I started this thread a few weeks ago about replacing favorites that I can't wear anymore: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-favorites

I found some great replacements and wanted to share (photos 2-4). Still looking for an elusive kelly green top! I'm also looking for a sassy sweatshirt, but found a t-shirt that will do the trick for now (1). I also need to start building a jacket/topper collection, and fell in love with this bright orange jacket with a peplum back (5). The last top (6) was just an extra I found, because I love pink and orange together!

After a couple of months of failure, I decided to try EVERY store in my in-laws' sad shopping area when we visited. I decided to try Bon Ton last-minute, and found everything but the lacy tank there. In a single store!! With 75% off clearance. All the stars aligned!

Must say it looks to me that you didn't just replace, you upgraded! Just Excellent. And now all that focus can go into the kelly green shirt and you can wait for PPP.

Love all the replacements! They are very similar to the originals, but so much fresher. And that jacket in 5 is incredible! Peplums were made for you! I can't wait to see outfits with it. It will look amazing with a pencil skirt. I think this is the most exclamation points I have used in a post, ever.

What a great idea! You have inspired me to photograph a few that I still like but could use an upgrade. Then I can use for reference in the stores. Brilliant.

I just love that peplum jacket on you - maybe it wasn't in the plan but when something is so great for you, you should jump! Lovely. All of your choices will be great.

You did a fantastic job with replacing the old favourites. What I like most is your strategic approach - you knew what you were after. I don't think we had a thread like this, it's perfect illustration of upgrading. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your beautiful new clothes.

I remember how I shook my head thinking you were a glutton for punishment and how you would get so-o-o frustrated looking for replacements and never finding them cuz it wasn't like you were looking for a simple black t-shirt or something (which is hard enough!!!). So my mouth is stuffed as I am eating my words. Congratulations on your fortitude and fortune!!! WOW. I am so impressed. This is both rare and well done. And that jacket is absolutely fabulous on you.

And you are looking sleek and trim as can be! I can see that you would need all new small sizes- what's your secret?

Thanks, everyone! I am beyond thrilled. I don't feel like I compromised at all, which was my goal with these particular items.

Kat -- what is PPP?

Ornella -- originally started with a WIW, because I wore the the top in #3 today, then realized I really wanted to compare what I'd bought with what I had. And, I wanted to clear out the old stuff from my closet.

DonnaF -- I know! I really thought it was a futile effort, and that MAYBE I'd find one top, and even then, that I'd be settling for something ho-hum. And even when I found these in the store, what was the likelyhood that they would WORK?? And, the supreme bonus for me -- that they'd all be machine wash/dry? I'm over the moon, to say the least!

Parsley -- I've been weightlifting (real weights!) since February, but my latest push is Drop Two Sizes by Rachel Cosgrove. I'm on week 8 of a 12-week program, and my results have been unbelievable. I look at my body and think I look the same, but then the clothes (and photos) tell a completely different story.

pil -- I found all but the lace tank in one store (Bon Ton), which I visited for an hour. The lace tank was the day before at TJMaxx, also maybe an hour spent. But I've been looking a couple of times a week in my local stores since April or May! With kids, so brief excursions. Macy's, TJMaxx, JCP, Ann Taylor/Loft, Chico's, Gap, etc. Patience (or frustration?) paid off!

Wow! I am gobsmacked! Like Declawed, I was convinced you had set yourself on a fool's errand. And I wondered why you why you even bothered.

Well, you taught me a lesson! What fantastic replacements! As Kat says, it looks as if you upgraded vs. simply replacing.

I love your idea to post the old and the new together. And I love your new jacket, too!

Suz -- your words about what may or may not work after weight loss were in my head the whole time! Really, with all my shopping lately. I am branching out and trying different shapes and styles than before. I don't want to go back to my old standby, same-old look. It's so much FUN!

Your replacements are amazingly like the originals. I'm sure you will find the Kelly green one too. It looks like your new orange jacket could work with all of these tops.
