My new love - orange raincoat

I just got this Lululemon rain jacket and wanted to post a photo to show the seller because she was so kind and thoughtful. So I thought I might as well post it here and show you too (it has been a looooong time since I've posted a pic). Sorry the pic doesn't show much detail, it was taken in haste. And my hands are not actually as big as that, they are just in the foreground!

I first tried this on in a 2 at my local Lulu warehouse. It looked amazing but I couldn't really move my arms. So when I spotted it in a 4 on Ebay I thought it would be perfect.

It arrived today just when we got a downpour of Spring rain. So I got to use it straight away! It's so soft and comfortable, the shape is elegant in a way the photo doesn't convey, and the colour makes me smile. I am wearing it now, don't want to take it off.

I love it! What a great shape. I like how it flares out to the hem-line. It's lovely to wear some colour on drab days. Is it fully waterproof?

Thanks Diane! The tag says the fabric is waterproof and the zipper pockets are water repellent. I'm not sure if that means 100% waterproof but the rain just beaded off of it in the few minutes I was out in it.

It is actually meant to be a cycling jacket. I found a great blog post about it (with a video to show the drape) here (this writer is more street fashion focused unlike the Lulu bloggers who mostly disliked this jacket):

That's great! Thanks for the link. I bet all the seams are taped to make it waterproof then. I love the shape of the back and the trench vibe. I'm a big fan of trenches. You look great.

Yes it says "seam sealed" , sounds like what you've described more precisely. Thankyou

Hey Kieran, I've missed you! Great to see you post and I LOVE your new orange raincoat! One of my favorite colors and I love the fit and flare shape on you. I remember your yellow raincoat search, glad you have found a bright and cheery raincoat that you love! So pretty!

Hi Natalie, missed you too! The yellow coat caper didn't really work out but I feel more confident now in choosing other things. I had an amazing royal blue coat this year, wore it for a couple of months but it didn't survive drycleaning and, amazingly, the manufacturer took it back for a full refund! So then I could afford to get this. I'm disappointed i didn't get a photo of the blue coat, it was very me! And I don't think I would have had the guts to buy it if not for the knowledge gathered during the yellow coat search.

(the coat I had was the one below but in a rich royal blue, so soft to the touch, on my figure it really trapezed out like a Jetsons dress - I miss it!)

Ooh, I really like that! The color is smashing on you, and I love the shape. Don't know why I didn't think to check out Lulu when I was looking for raincoats earlier in the year.
