Mules are back!

Interesting timing on this for me. I had a pile of shoes purged from my closet and set aside, almost all mule style booties, sandals, loafers and kitten heeled pumps all bought in the 2000s.

Last week I pulled a few pairs back into my closet and I was even going to post an new Ask Angie thread about whether or not the style was dated, but saw some mules still showing up on Nordstrom and other retailers.

I seem to have a habit of getting rid of things just as they cycle back.

Ha, I remember flinging a mule off my foot and halfway across a restaurant back in the late 90s! I like my shoes to stay put these days, plus you can't put arch supports in mules so I shall likely pass on this trend.

Cool! I have some brown suede mules I love! Easy to slide on and can even go in the snow if it's not too deep.

My narrow feet love this type of shoe! As long as I wear some type of sock, I can wear a regular width without the back flopping up and down because there is no back!

So funny, I just wrote my blog post for tomorrow and said that last year I wore mules a lot but my new love of booties have made them obsolete....

I still see these in stores so I think they may be one of those styles that is always "around". The cobalt ones are cool but I just don't know that I want to add this look to my wardrobe:)

I love mules. LOVE THEM.
Personal admission. When I was in my mid 20's. I had 5 men drink beer out of my mule. That was kind of an awesome night.

I will pass on mules. To hard to keep on and I always felt faintly ridiculous trying to wear them.

I used to love mules too. Until I discovered the joys of shoes that stay on in a rush, especially in crowded subways and buses.

Now I like them for wearing around the house, to slip on and off easily, though I haven't had a pair in a couple of years (promised myself I'd wear out the hated and oft-overlooked thongs my parents keep buying me).

I completely agree -- I had a pair of leather woven mules with a similar shape. I am trying to understand my involuntary cringe at that memory
