Mostly Neutral for Early Spring

I love a black white gray and cognac color combo. For someone who adores color it is surprising that I love this near absence of color. Maybe because the neutrals allow the orange tones to really stand out.

So it's not quite low 60's and it will probably get cooler once the sun goes down so I have 2 alternatives for today. Currently it's about 55 degrees so it's probably going to be warm in the car -- no need for a coat, but it's cool so I'm wearing a wool sweater. As for now I am leaving to run errands as soon as I post so ballet flats will rule for now. However the boots are a nice backup for the evening when the temps will drop. I was playing around in my closet yesterday (the effort was tiring so I did not make it out as I had intended -- growing a baby is hard work ;-)!)

Lovely lines here, DV. As a fellow lover of color, I find that neutrals that are bright or high contrast seem to satisfy the same gene that appreciates the brightest of brights

Love this outfit. The black and white looks super fresh, and the cognac rounds out the colour scheme in a rich way. The skirt is particularly fab and I hope to see it again in other combinations.

Aida - I agree -- it's the high contrast and print that make up for my insatiable need for color in outfits.
Karie - skirts are seeing the light of day in my wardrobe now that old man winter seems to have finally kicked the bucket.
Abc - if any one had told me that I could be totally wiped out by creating and trying on 3 outfits while pregnant I'd have laughed in their face last year. This year I am likely to smile, roll over and take a nap

This is great. What an interesting print on the skirt. I love how the flare and the diagonal lines keep our eyes moving. It has the energy of colour without the colour!

Suz - I agree there is something about a wonderful graphic that's so energetic and interesting you just don't miss color. I've had this skirt about 3 or 4 years and I have never worn more than one color at a time with it.

I had to giggle at your diagnosis of the 50s as sweater but no coat. Down here, my reaction is 'Awesome! It's in the 50s! I get to wear outerwear!'.
