mid summer shop #1 White Clams

So over the years at YLF, I have often had suggestions to buy white clams. I have resisted because
1) I have proportionally large thighs, and were concerned about the effect of a light colour on them
2)I have kids, so they may not stay clean

This summer though I decided to give them a go, and hemmed some white skinnies that only put me out $20.
Here they are with three tops that people have suggested they go with:

Only once of these is immediately comfortable for me. Can you guess which?

Hi anne! I would assume that you find the tunic the most comfortable. I like all three tops on you and the white clams look great! I'm not noticing any large thighs. You look fabulous!

I think the voluminous top and the tunic work great but the flowery shirt isn't bad either x

All three looks are fabulous Anne, if you manage to keep your white clams clean I can see no reason why I can't give the look a try come the summer. Will you let me know how you find the kids plus white clothes conundrum?

I like the tunic the best! But the white pants look very nice with the first blouse too IMO. I wasn't so wild about the voluminous top. I don't see any large thighs either and I do like the summery casual look on you very much......can't wait to have the chance to see people in similar relaxed chic summer styles here where we still have snow outside the window.

I prefer with the striped shirtdress tunic because it's longer and fitted and it gives you a slimmer figure!

I kinda think the tunic ends up shortening your legs a lot... like the legs start at mid thigh and end at the knee, yet the torso starts high on the bust and continues to mid thigh. Just my opinion...

I do LOVE the clams with the purple top, however -- so pretty! I also like the flowery one a lot.

Those of you who guessed the shirtdress were absolutely right. I don't think it is just the length, it is also that there is less of an abrupt change of colour between the top and the clams.
Thanks to everyone who encouraged the other looks - I'll have to give them a go
Thanks for nice comments re thighs -I know they're not objectively that big, but I have relatively slender hips, and short legs, so can look rather stumpy.

Julie - I'll let you know how the white thing goes. Current plan is to take them off the minute I get home from somewhere - and if necessary use napisan (or last resort, bleach).
