These are a couple of outfits I wore last week. Nothing great but I would love feedback on different things I have been trying:

Tuesday:
This is a casual jeans outfit I wore to work. I wanted to add a pop of color to a largely neutral palette so I threw on the blue scarf, using the susand ( ) knot:

Thursday:
The temps were a little cooler and springlike inspiring me to add some more color than usual. I finally brought out a scarf I got as a christmas gift:

Friday:
Friday is utmost casual at work and I felt like wearing something not too casual, yet not too smart casual So, I threw on a jacket on a brand new Threadless tee I've shunned post YLF. I really do love this tee, esp the white guitar on black fabric I have a strong feeling I will get a thumbs down for the jacket, it pre dates YLF by years and was thrifted. I'm hesitant about the crewneck tee but I just LOVE the print Can I convert it to a split or V neck? Any ideas?

Niva-What nice outfits! You look very nice everyday. Your cardigans could definitely be your signature look, Imo. I personally think your Friday outfit looks great!

Cute looks! I like the pop of color from your blue scarf in the first outfit. I like the rest of your outfits as well, but there is something off, for me, in Friday's outfit. It could just be the crew neckline of the shirt...have you tried adding a longer necklace to draw attention down a little and create a v shape? I don't know if it will do anything but I thought I'd suggest it. I think the shirt is cute though. Another thought...what about under a vest instead of the jacket?

Angie, thank you! Coral is the word I've been going for, just wouldn't come to me I have a black waistcoat but I wasn't sure about the black on black. Now a white waistcoat would be awesome. I'll start looking for one! (Glad Greg will approve, I just can't stop loving it :-D)

Great week!!! Love the crispness of the white cardie and the way youve done the scarf in the first outfit! Your neutral palette experiment look is super flattering on you & rolling the cuffs up has just given it a final touch!! I love your threadless T design! I also find my threadless Ts a bit constricting around the neck and saw someone somewhere post one they had altered themselves that looked great. One day I am going to give it a go!!

Niva- I love the coral color on you. You have to start looking for that color to add it more places in your wardrobe. Love your Threadless tee, too- they are having a $5 sale right now!

My favs are the coral cardi and the guitar tee outfits. Threadless tees used to be a staple in my college but thanks to post HBC boobs, I can't fit into the XL sizes in the girly tees anymore

What style of AE jeans are these? I am on the hunt for new ones and these look like they might be roomy enough in the thigh area.

Tam, thanks! That white cardi is soon becoming my favorite staple and wearing out really fast. I need to duplicate fast. I'm still experimenting with skirts and belts and layering so this all very new and exciting to me! The jacket, tee + jeans outfit is the closest to my heart though. I feel very good in such outfits for some reason Lately I feel the same way with pencil skirts. Wrt Threadless tees, have you seen this?: http://www.threadless.com/prof.....r_requests
I wish I could do something as simple as altering the crewneck to a V neck.
I'll play around with a few of my lounge tees and see what I can do

Khris, thank you! I used to be afraid of how colors would look on me but picked this up one day when I was feeling particularly bold (Target). I am keeping an eye out for coral pieces!

elpgal, thank you Those were the two outfits I was most unsure about. The tee+jeans look used to be a staple but to step it up to smart casual I paired it with the jacket which I haven't worn in a long time. I love Threadless tees, if only they would start offering less constricting/more flattering necklines. I looked up the label on those jeans and it says "Favorite Flare" I bought it 6-8 months(?) ago. Just be aware of the distressing on it. I like the fit but I bought a different model in the same fit without realizing. I didn't know there was some serious distressing in the knee are until after someone pointed it out to me at work! Then again my workplace is VERY laid back so it flies.

I love the t shirt with the guitar. It is graphic, asymmetrical ,a surprise underneath a jacket.
I think the idea of a simple necklace, perhaps a long chain could give you the feeling of the V neck you prefer.

You definitely look great in bright colors.
The coral is just wonderful on you.

i love how you've done all of these...but my favorite is the coral cardi/white tank look! it looks so effortlessly pulled together, and looks marvelous on your skin! i think i have that same cardigan in a bright green but it hits me much lower on my hips...

Hi Vani, you looked great all week. Love the coral on you and I especially like how you've paired it with a lacy cami! I also really like the guitar tee and a white vest might be the perfect way to update it! Isn't the white cardi fab? I also got one earlier this spring and I have been wearing it with everything!
