Shana, I like your suggestions. I was wearing big earrings so I didn't wear a necklace, but I definitely thought about it. I think you're right that it would have looked better with a chunky necklace or something.
Regarding the original boots... they're definitely too big. When I bought them I was just relieved that I actually found boots that zip and I disregarded the fact that they were too big. They're wide-calf boots and through trial and error I've realized that I actually don't need wide-calf boots (they're all too big on me). I guess I thought since I was plus size I needed plus size boots too... but that's not the case. I'm glad I learned! "Normal" boots with a bigger calf openings fit me better.
I'll probably sell the brown boots on eBay. There's a market for shoes in my size (hard-to-find) and I have enough boots as it is. I don't think it's worth it to get them altered... I'd just rather sell them!
