Masquerade party - what to wear?

I'm sorry Julie, I would not have a clue what to wear to an event of this nature with a dress code plus fancy dress element. It sounds a lot of fun though. I do know that my mask would be adorned with peacock feathers.

If I had a tight budget I think I would spend my money on an amazing mask. Or if you're creative and can make your own mask, all the better. I think that if your mask is fantastic a black dress can serve as a nice canvas, so the attention can be on your mask.

I have no ideas...we were also invited to a Valentine Masquerade Ball...I am lost as well:( But I like the ideas here.

I'm definitely going to wear a mask - they are required for entry! I may consider spending my money on that and then going simple with the dress. Angie, I really want to do a lot of dancing so I'm not sure a ballgown will work for me! Thanks for your suggestions!
