Maria Bello in Prime Suspect!

Has anyone been watching the new show on NBC(?) called Prime Suspects starring Maria Bello?

DH & I have liked the writing so far but what totally cinched it for me is the lead character Jane Timoney's 20s gangster-ish androgynous (I'm guessing?) work style! Once it cools down I am totally going to attempt a few similar outfits. Off to shake the dust off my fedora.

I DVR'd it but haven't watched it yet - but just in the trailors I noticed her clothing and thought it was really cool!

I'm very interested because it's apparently based on the brilliant British TV series of the same name. With Helen Mirren. Go watch it if you haven't yet!

I like Mario Bello and am loving her outfits in these pictures. I see Aidan Quinn is in there too, excellent;-)

I heard an interview with her on NPR (Talk of the Nation) and liked it so started watching the series. I like the series and noticed her clothes, too, especially that hat!

I think it is mostly the hat that gives her the androgynous look. I want to watch the show but haven't remembered to check the night it is on.

I'm enjoying it too! It's nice to see a strong female character. To me, her style is very unobtrusive. I've noticed the hat and the scarves, but they seem organic, not like she's a "character," but more like she's a particular person who wears those particular items. I really like that.

There's another show called "Unforgettable" that features a female detective, and in a recent episode she told her boss, "I don't do pantsuits." I thought that was pretty funny, since so many women detectives on TV run around in expensive pantsuits and high heels.

Inge, I discovered that when I googled "prime suspect tv show" and Helen Mirren's images kept popping up! I am going to figure out a way to watch the British version. Aidan Quinn plays her boss is looks appropriately dashing

Dianthus, I think her vest and button-up shirts also add to the androgynous-ity of her outfits.

Tara, after a long work day and the inability to say it more eloquently - what you said!! What is more striking than her work style is how contrasting her play clothes are, while remaining true to her strong, no frills personality.

I am still entertaining the idea of trying Unforgettable since Poppy Montgomery seemed rather one dimensional in Without a Trace. But I agree, definitely too many women detectives in pant suits on television!

Watched this the other night:) Firstly as a fan of the British Prime Suspect this version paled a little against the orginal Secondly her style is very cool, particularly in the still photos, but on the program she often looks too untidy for me.. sorry I am a total neat freak.

Angie, so true! If I ever switch to a job/position which requires more formal dressing I am going to be all over suits. Which doesn't mean I still shouldn't get one, hmm.....
