Hi. I remember you mentioning that you wanted to make scarfs one of your style statements. How is that going for you? Do you have a large assortment to pick from? Do you ever find scarfs to be too hot or fussy?

Hope you're enjoying your new purchases and August challenge.

Yes, scarves are going strong for me. I enjoy wearing them very very much....despite the hot and humid Indian summer.

I've noticed that as my dressing gets more casual, scarves are what keeps the look pulled together. I'm really enjoying scarves worn over knit tees, solid colour blouses, dresses and even shorts. They also make excellent coverage because I can get quite conscious of my large bust in t-shirts. I feel very happy and confident when I have a scarf.

I do have a medium sized collection. Say about 15-20 Summer scarves that are pure cotton, linen and a few gauzy chiffon fabric. However, I've noticed I gravitate towards 5 or 6 of them a lot more-----they go with almost all of my wardrobe and are cotton, so they don't feel hot and fussy.

I intend to experiment with more and more ways to tie scarves because I enjoy experimenting with that too. As the weather cools down, I intend to use scarves a lot more....

1) to add colour and pattern to my neutral-heavy winter wardrobe

2) to wear flattering colours near my face because some of my favourite winter pieces are in shades of brown, which is not good for my cool-toned winter colouring. But the right scarf might solve the problem.

I am intrigued with your idea of making scarfs a signature piece. I would like to try to emulate your idea and WIWs. My favorite of the pictures is number 2. It might be that the extra loop around the neck gives me the idea of "too hot." Styling a scarf similar to number 2 feels "cooler."

So I only own two scarfs. Both are winter scarfs. One is a gorgeous wool (which I cannot wear against my skin) and the other is a gorgeous cashmere.

So I need to look for cottons scarfs. I will start my search today. Thanks for the idea.

Great to hear that, Sterling. I was traveling this weekend and shopped with my mom on Saturday, and added a few more scarves to my collection. I picked cotton ones in lighter shades ---- I think most of my scarves are too dark for my wardrobe...since I wear dark colored tops too.

Great pics Maneera, scarves really suit you beautifully!
I've always liked scarves, but I must admit I nearly tossed a lot of them out when we moved to Brisbane, which has a hotter and more humid climate. But in fact, I found them invaluable over "winter" here. A long sleeve top or dress, with a scarf, was perfect for all but the coolest fortnight when I needed a jacket. I must say I have been wearing a scarf most days for the last three or so months, just as a slight additional layer. You give me confidence to try them in slightly warmer spring weather now too!

I love your scarf pics. I wear scarves several times a week in the winter and go in spurts in the summer. I'll get on a kick and wear them fairly often and then sort of forget about them for a while. I like the bit of pattern and extra color they can bring to an outfit.

To be honest, I kind of like something around my neck! My statement piece is usually a long necklace in summer....I almost always wear one. But I do tend to wear solid colours very often, and a scarf is just better at filling in the empty neckline and injecting some fun pattern and colour into an otherwise drab outfit. I don't wear jewelry in winters at all.....so I always wear scarves.

I'm glad you ladies enjoy scarves too!
