Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Love this dress: Am I crazy?

I definitely have dresses on the brain. I want dresses that are more casual and some type of print...I have plenty of solid dresses. This could also be my answer to the flannel shirt. I did the 90's flannel shirt thing, and I want a stepped-up version. It's a plaid flannel dress, which looks cute, cozy, and easy to care for. Will the large scale of the plaid be unflattering, along the lines of horizontal stripes?

Also, based on the measurements given, it would hit me right above the knee. Don't know why it looks so ridiculously short on the model.

I don't think you are crazy at all. When I first saw the picture I thought 'wow that is short' but reading that it hits you at almost the knee - it sounds perfect. I really think this dress is versatile. I can see it belted, layered with a turtleneck or button up underneath, a cardigan over, even a 'parka' style coat to make it kind of funky with some opaque tights and some heeled brogue style shoes (still learning about 'brogues'). I really really like it! I might have to keep an eye on it too! :)

Cute cute cute! That looks like it would be a very versatile dress for the fall/winter (you're in the South?). Dress it down with leggings/flats or tights/boots or dress it up with tights and a heel like agrace said. I say go for it!

I liked it too when I saw it. I would wear it in a heartbeat. It would hit me above the knee too. Guess the model is just really tall.

It's a very cute dress and the colours are lovely, if the dress would be knee length on you, does that make you petite? My only concern would be a the large scale of the print on a petite frame.

Yay! No, I'm not petite. I'm 5'5" and usually a size 6-8 (US) or in the medium range. It says shoulder to hem measurement of 34.5 inches. I measured from my shoulder, and it hits right at my knee. That's assuming their measurement is accurate.

this dress is difficult due to the horizontal stripes, I think it's not the most flattering one!

I think it's cute but to my eye, it's a very juniors looking dress so I think you'd have to keep the rest of the outfit less juniors - but you weren't going to wear it with Uggs anyway, right???!! :)

Shana, I swear I won't wear Uggs with the dress! I was also concerned that it looks kind of young, but I think I can make it age appropriate. I went ahead and ordered it, so I'll have to see if it works or not. I think it will either look great or awful. :o)
