MsMaven, you sound just like my DH, who is an economist. He says an investment is only an investment if it makes you money. If it doesn't yield a profit, it's not an investment.

Ruth, I agree with your husband. I think that is why I see clothing purchases as a hobby. It makes me feel good and I enjoy it. I think it is also the reason I do not purchase many summer pieces because I am plunking my money into my gardens instead.
