Wore my red pumps over the holidays with grey, white, and for a fancy party with a big red sparkeley sweater. wore them again with jeans and white sweater. was going to wear them with nude tights and charcoal sweater dress but we had heavy rain that day so could not get them wet.

Looking now for red sandals and dug out my red and tan flats. So I will be looking for print tops with some red in them, adding more white, perhaps with some embroidery that has some red flowers. These will go with all my jeans, white,black grey and standard blue, mostly light wash.

Also white and silver nail polish on toes will be my choices. May also add a red and gold choker, and make something with some red beads in it to add a bit more red to an otherwise neutral outfit like all black and white, or all grey.

I bought some red shoes and blue and white pants... but I'm thinking that's too chipper for me. I didn't intend them to go together or anything, but I wonder if there's a type of top that I could use to add morose-ness...lol.

I really like the idea of red shoes with a neutral outfit. I bought some red sandals but I can't wear them because 1) their delivery has been delayed due to weather, and 2) because we just had 5-6 inches of snow! Still, I think in summer when I wear blue, grey or white crops, and a similarly neutral top, the sandals will add some personality.

I also have my Turkish shoes, but I want to keep them indoor shoes, at least for now.

What does chipper mean in this context, rachylou? I thought the word meant cheerful, is that what you mean?
As for my red shoes, I do tend to wear them actually with red. Mainly a red dress eg the maxi in my profile pic, quite a bright red. Or sometimes a bright red top and then either black or white pants and then red shoes. I do have a sparkly red cardigan that could go over my LBD and then red shoes would pick that up. I am wearing red less than I used to as also keen now on cobalt, teal, pink and orange!

I like red shoes with really distressed grey denim. In fact now I wish I owned some, aside from an old pair of Dr Martens.

I just purchased some red shoes that I think I will keep. DH said they were "kind of cute," which is high praise indeed from a man who normally rolls his eyes at new shoes.

I rather like them with an entirely black outfit, which I suppose is the same as neutrals. I recently bought a red blazer, but I feel like red shoes with it would be too matchy-matchy for me.

Sounds... wet, Rachy. Wet red shoes.

So far I've worn my new red shoes with a red and navy dress, and with a soft blue jumper dress and black turtleneck. I almost wore them with a black and silver dress today. Reds are almost neutral in that they "go" with anything, as long as it feels right.

Red shoes look great with denim. Rachylou, add a stormy grey denim or even blue denim jacket. Stompy boots with a hint of threat may also add grit. Lots of heavy chains? Skull or snake jewelry? A black eye patch?
