This appealed to me in the catalogue

because my style is so plain and I like the idea of adding a little embellishment.

But now it has come, I am just not sure. It seems VERY bulky. It can't be fastened up, btw

I'd love to hear your thoughts

Anne never apologise for posting a lot. I like this vest. It's different but not over the top. I could see this over a crisp white button down with the collar popped. Also over a turtleneck. It is not too bulky. I like.

I'm not crazy about it. I had a zipper rosette hand bag that scratched and snagged everything it came in contact with. DD's thought it was a weapon. The vest is interesting but in the thumbnail photos looks kind of misshapen--I'd return for something sleeker. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm. One yes and one no!!

Deborah - I don't own a longsleeved white buttondown!! I do have a short sleeve puffed sleeve one. But turtlenecks - for sure!!

Kellygirl - sleek is definitely more my usual style. I am not sure these zippers would stick - they are plastic.

Hm, it's a lot of volume... not sure if I like it with the shirt and jeans, but maybe with a dress? Something about the length and un-fitted-ness seems like it might go with dresses better.

I'm on the fence. I think it depends on how you feel wearing it. If you love it and want to wear it right now, keep. If you feel like it's just ok, pass and keep looking.

Hmmm, I am for Return. I actually bought something similar a couple years back and never wore it. But those ruffles are too girly for MY style. My daughter uses it now and on her long slender frame it works great! I didn't need the extra volume on top!

Jayne - interesting. I am very small in the bust department so that area can take enhancement! DH says it makes my shoulders look small, which he doesn't like.

bj - that is my fear.

I have arou)nd 14 hours before I plan to head off to the post office (to return) so I'd love to hear some more responses!

Not sure, Anne. The angle would be misleading, but I suspect the volume is being added just a little too low. I LOVE the idea of this garment and in isolation would completely see the attraction of it, but the way it's fitting you is not going to make it too easy to style.

Mind you, it can still be a success and a stellar one I think --- but it's not a 'throw on and go' piece; it does require some balancing. Like Rae said, a dress would help to balance it's volume, or maybe a top with stronger shoulder detail --- wonder if you saw the lace one Kirti posted for opinions yesterday, which might address the narrow shoulder issue your husband mentions.

ManidipaM - I should point out that I do actually have quite straight shoulders - I am a strong shouldered lass, though not quite IT. So it takes quite a bit to make them look narrow - and perhaps a sleeve with some volume could help. as you suggest. (I quite like narrow shoulders myself, on the grass is greener principle!)

I think you might be right that the bulk is a little too low - this is bulking up my slimmest body section.

Hoping Angie might chime in, if poss?

Anne, I think the problems others have noted may be entirely due to camera angle. I have a feeling that styled properly, this could be cool. As another small-busted person I like the idea of adding some volume there. It's definitely a statement piece, but you can use a few of those.

Well I am heading off to town in about 45 mins, so if anyone want to weigh in, do so now...

I had great ideas of getting up early and doing some styling pics before DH left for work but that didn't work out!
