Kristen outfits end of year wrapup

I didn't take many photos of my outfits while I was out of town, but while I was working, I was faithful to my routine!

Tuesday 12/22: I tried the Hamburglar turtleneck again, dressed up in my new statement jacket and dressed down in my yummy plum ATL terry loungewear. I liked both of these.

Monday 12/28: Back to work in my Donna Morgan dress and a new attempt at layered tights. This one was my Oroblue sable micro-fishnets over a pair of plain black. This was a little out there for me, not sure if I will do it again -- at least not with this dress!

Tuesday: a simple outfit with a little-worn mustard and pink scarf. The poor scarf has been carrying a lot of baggage; I've decided to let it off the hook and just enjoy it!

Wednesday: My favorite tights-layering experiment so far! Would have been better with less-clunky shoes but overall this was one of my favorites as of late.

Thursday (New Years) and a casual Saturday: I posted this to the NYE thread too, but I'm a completist so I had to include it here. I already tucked the tan socks under the ponte pants; as soon as I saw the photos I knew wearing them on top was not going to work. Kari and Sheila's comment confirmed my suspicions.

I've still got a ton of new-to-me clothes from Shopping Friend left to meld into my closet, and I picked up a few new items -- like a great black sweater dress -- out at the sales this weekend. So I am looking forward to all kinds of new combinations!

My faves are the scarf outfit (what yummy colors!) and Wednesday's outfit. They have a fun edge to them
And, no offense to your beautiful new jacket, but I actually preferred the hamburglar shirt the way you had it styled before. I think maybe the outfit had a more casual vibe to it which seemed to fit the shirt. But what do I know?

What an awesome week, Kristen! You are kind of on black and grey kick. I think my favorite is the "crazy-cute" outfit, maybe because it's slightly different. You look great in that yellow color.

The hamburglar turtleneck looks fantastic under a jacket. I LOVE the more dressed-up look with your snazzy new jacket over it.

In the second outfit your layering of the tights is amazing! Love.

Wednesday is great because of the pop of color from the turtleneck. And those tights really are impressive.

Thursday and Saturday are fun as well. I prefer the first photo for Facebook...

Kristen, LOVE the darker hair color!!You look positively yummy. My fav outfit of the lot is the you wore for NYE. The tights layering is sublime and those shoes, those shoes....I thought of you when I saw a pair just like those in tan the other day in Dillards.

So glad you guys like the darker hair! I'm not completely sold on it yet myself; it's an expensive process and it doesn't last very long. Strangely enough, even though on its own my hair isn't blonde anymore, whenever I dye it dark it goes lighter very quickly, I think out of spite. LOL!

Angie, I would describe the length of the pants as "much too short". I know! They were all hand-me-downs from my much-shorter Shopping Friend, and they're all at the tailors for lengthening. I don't have enough flats to go with them as they are.

Vani, in tan? Ooooh. The shoes are a little on the high side for me, I will admit; and the cheap-o outlet construction means the heel slides a bit when I walk. I don't know if they will last more than this year, but they are fun while they're still good!

Kristen, you look fabulous as always! I am also really loving the new hair - I like how the color adds all this depth and texture and the cut is awesome.

I just wanted to share that you have inspired me to try out the tights layering. I have loads of patterned tights (always loved them even before they became "in") but many of them go unused since I generally only wear them for dressier occasions. I broke out a pair yesterday that I have always thought were too risque (big pattern) for day wear and layered it over a pair of black opaque tights along with a denim skirt and boots and voila, a great daytime look and warm to boot!
