Kristen outfits 12/13-21 - YouLookFab Forum

Tomorrow starts my extra-long weekend, and I am SOOO looking forward to wearing casual clothes, I cannot even tell you! I picked up a few new pairs of jeans on super-sale at AT Loft, and I am excited to style them for Christmas, travel, and just plain ol' smart casual.

In the meantime, here's what I've been wearing in my business casual life:

Monday: This may be my only dress of the week. Weird! But it's gotten cold, and I've honestly gotten a little bored of just dresses all the time. I inherited some skirts, pants and suits from Shopping Friend so I am excited to mix it up again. I will still be in plenty of dresses, but it feels creatively engaging to alternate.
I do love that tiger's-eye necklace, though. The weight of it is so nice after lots of flimsy cheap jewelry.

Tuesday: Red, grey and cream -- I like this new-to-me color combo! I have better pants now so these will probably be retired; they look better in heels but they're too short for them, so they just look dumpy. Alas!

Wednesday: I do like that striped look on other people, but seriously you guys, don't I look like the Hamburglar? I really think I do.

Thursday: the new statement coat I posted here last week. Mmmm, it's snowing and cold today, might need to be "remixed" as they say in the blogging world!

Friday: I was off work and running errands all day, but I got dressed up for a work party. I followed Angie's informal party formula without even realizing it! Pretty dress, festive turtleneck and necklace, paired with fun booties and a cute fun bag.

Saturday: I didn't get a great picture of it mainly because I wasn't wearing my boots yet, but I finally tried the skinny ponte pants tucked in boots look. I liked it because it was cozy and warm, and perfect for running errands. Fuschia pink ribbed ON turtleneck, black EB grandpa cardigan, black Daisy Fuentes skinny ponte pants, black stones three-strand necklace, and imagine my plum patent waterproof boots where George is standing. LOL!

Monday: I ended up unbuttoning the cream sweater so it didn't look as snug, but the whole outfit really revolved around the pretty moss green burnt-out velvet scarf. I've had it for years but rarely wear it; it's a tough color for my complexion, so I thought going with that warm cream and pumping up the blush on my cheeks might work. Did it?

Well, you may be tired of dresses, but I'm not tired of seeing you in dresses! My favorites are Monday and Friday (both dresses, natch). I like the stripes, Hamburgler or no, but the fact that the turtleneck is tucked in is maybe something to experiment with -- for example, try wearing the turtleneck untucked, with jeans and the sweater and tall boots? Just a thought. You had a great week! Have a wonderful holiday!

I LOVE the Tuesday look with red/gray/cream combo and lovely scarf. Something about the red and gray together works really well and looks great with your skin, too.

You guys are too sweet, and thanks for the suggestions about the Hamburglar top! I did try it again yesterday with the M+O statement jacket and I think it worked out much better.

Also, Laura, check out the new LOFT loungewear jacket I got. I am hooked on these!

Oh, LOVE that new loungewear cozy cozy looking jacket -- the wide collar is SO flattering. Makes me think of curling up with a good book in front of a roaring fire! You certainly have the lounging in style thing down!

p.s. Love the hamburglar turtleneck (maybe they should market these under that name? who makes it - Loft? Lands End? better let them know your brilliant name ASAP) under the M + O jacket. Nicely done.

My favorites are Monday - I love you in purple, you look so good, Tuesday because of the FAB scarf, and Monday with the gorgeous green velvet scarf. You are amazing with scarves!

Kristen, I'm not sure if I've posted anything to the YLF forum before, but I had to this morning because I'm still laughing about your Hamburglar comment! That's so funny--I adore stripes, but always get an image of Ronald McDonald or the Wicked Witch of the West when I reach for them. Rest assured, you look far more like the lovely Jean Seberg in A Bout de Souffle than the Hamburglar!

But as for your kitty--watch out--there may be a Hamburglar underneath those lovely stripes!

LOVE you in tomato red! My goodness! It’s right up there with purple. Another stylish week, Kristen! I like the party outfit best. It looks a little boho somehow which is a style I think you pull off well.
