Kristen June 8-12 outfits -- with a guest photo! :)

I had a few extra outfits this week because I had some after-work things to do, so there's casual AND work. And a special guest star in Saturday's photo: my newly skinny husband!

Wednesday: The new Loft black pencil skirt comes out to play! I think the striped cardigan is too big now, but I liked the volume it gave me added with the red top. The skirt is pretty snug, so the volume on top was a good balance, I think.

Wednesday night: Out running errands in an "ombre" white-blue t-shirt from ATF, the cranberry cardigan and the infamous muffin-top jeans. *g*

Thursday: the purple-and-green knit dress makes its first of two appearances this week.

Friday: this is actually three layers -- a tissue-thin long-sleeved back t-shirt, the blue-and-black patterned dress, and a black bolero sweater. Got lots of compliments on this one, but I was annoyed; I had added the layers because it had been so cold all week, then it turned out to be 75 that day! Sheesh.

Friday night: we started our drive to Detroit that night, so I wanted to be comfy but still presentable. I picked up this white crochet-neck t-shirt at Loft for $10, and it had a bit of a boho vibe to it. So I added a brown stone-and-leather necklace and my yellow sweater. Jeans and gold sandals, and we were off!

Saturday: I wore the boho look again in the morning, then we changed for my niece's christening. This time I wore the green-and-purple knit dress with a black Target sweater, my black wedges and rattan clutch. And I finally got a nice photo of Hubby and me -- our first since we have lost the weight!

Kristen, you look absolutely FANTASTIC! I think the banded top still looks aah-may-zing. Thats so funny that the striped cardigan is too big now, I can definitely tell. I'm also loving your ombre tee with the cranberry cardi. The yellow cardi is so cheery and the grey and yellow oufit on Monday is awesome. Rock on Kristen!

Fun week Kristen! The banded top still looks ok to me- the armholes don't seem saggy, which is where I seem to often feel it first. What are you doing with your too big clothes? I was thinking of starting a "swap" thread here for some of mine. I love your yellow cardi, and you and your hubby look great together. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Niva and Chewy! The banded top is slipping off my shoulders, and the armholes are extra-roomy, but I'm going to continue to wear it for as long as I can. Same goes with the striped sweater; sometimes a looser look works, so I'd like to keep it in my closet for those times.

I think a swap thread for sizes is a great idea! I have boxes and boxes of clothes still; I gave away the best of the 18s to a local friend back in the winter, and I just sent a box of 14s to my sister. But it hardly made a dent! Hubby has a ton of shirts and pants too. I decided I wasn't going to give them all away until the winter, when I was sure we were keeping it off. But giving away things here and there is fine by me!

Niiiiiice!!! You look great! Nice outfits...and great job on the weight loss! I think that a clothes swap is a great idea. It seems that you've done a great job of wardrobe management as you're shedding the pounds. I'm sure that anyone would be thrilled to have your pretty things.

BTW, how many colors of the Halogen cardis do you have? I bought one recently on sale at Nordies, and was wondering about how it will launder and such. Please advise. Thanks.

Ooh, forgot to mention, you and DH look amazing It is so great you guys did this together, it is wonderful how you support each other.

Kristen, I was actually thinking (before I read the commentary) that the banded top was still looking great, and how smart of you to choose something that's supposed to be a bit voluminous to get you through the tail end of your weight loss. So... take that as you will.

Your outfits look fantastic, and holy cow, look at how much progress you and your husband have made! You truly look fantastic.

I actually liked wednesdays outfit the best - but they were all good. I agree that the banded top is still ok. Congrats on the weight loss, both of you!

Oh, hurray I'm so glad the banded top is still getting a thumbs-up! I do love it and I don't want to retire it. I might even try to shrink it if I have to...

LWC, I have 3 Halogen cardis: yellow and cobalt that I bought in large, and a navy-and-white striped that I bought on sale in medium. They seem to hold up well to washing: I do my "delicates" in a gentle cycle in the washer, then 10 minutes in a cool dryer to bang out the worst of the wrinkles, then hang dry for the rest. Hasn't hurt them at all, although I don't wash them weekly. I might wander over to Nordies again this weekend, because I've come to realize these are the ONLY long-sleeved cardigans I own right now!

Aww, thank you all so much! I will admit, I am having a BALL finding new outfits that flatter my new figure; losing the weight has opened up so many fashion possibilities that I didn't have before. So many shapes and drapes and fits that I steered away from, now I embrace and enjoy. It's so much fun.

And Hubby is doing the same! He had a collection of old-men shirts that made me grind my teeth in despair, but now his closet is a rainbow of unexpected colors and combos. His former fashionable self has come out of hiding again, and I couldn't be more proud of him!

I love when I read these threads and see that a different outfit appealed to each person; it reinforces that variety really is the spice of life, and it helps to have that in your wardrobe.
