Monday: I finally wore the slate blue swinging cardigan from BR Outlet, and paired withe a rose-patterned new scarf from J Crew Outlet. I wish I'd taken a better picture because it looked much less dowdy than this.
Hubby then took me out to dinner, so I got to use my new ATL wicker clutch with my brown banded sweater and denim skirt.

Tuesday: the teal-and-purple dress I've worn a million times, but this time I finally got to lose the cardigan. Yay for warm weather at last!

Wednesday; I hadn't worn this MK red top in a while, mainly because it's gotten a little too big, but I found belting it with a wide belt and pairing with my short ATL pencil skirt gave it new life. I've realized wearing flats with shorter skirts makes them wearable for work; a short skirt and my skyhigh heels doesn't work as well at the Nun Hospital.

Thursday: Gear was the order of the day while kayaking, then I wore the Dress My Style Challenge outfit out to dinner.

Friday and Saturday: With my visiting 14-year-old niece, I went to an amusement park on Friday, and then downtown for a Segway tour on Saturday. Both were SO MUCH FUN, although I got a little banged up on my adventures. I steered away from gear, and wore cute cotton tops, bermuda shorts, and my most comfortable all-day sandals. I looked and felt about 1000000x dressier than most of the other people at the amusement park and downtown (although the downtown dressers were somewhat better). That capri faux-pas photo essay from the Trib was not exaggerating about the tragedy of the outfits around here!

Not looking the least bit dowdy! Fab as usual in every pic.

I like that you belted the MK top - it's a great color and I know the fabric of those tops is so soft and comfy that it would be hard to give up.

Your casual outfits are perfect - not gear, not too dressy. Perfect for the occasions and put together as well.

Thanks, Chris. I do love that MK top and I didn't want to give it up. It was my first size small, too. I was hoping the casual outfits worked; it's so hard to judge when you are surrounded by so much uber-casual/gear.

Ana, I did see the link, thank you! I replied there too, but I actually have a similar top from ATL in yellow already. I was looking at the rose instead. Hmmm...

Oops, sometimes stuff falls off the front page before I can see it.

I really like the bright rose color. I can't decide between the yellow color and the dark slate. The slate would probably be more versatile, but I'll probably end up with the yellow.

Great week, and I love your poses and sense of humor. Do you like the Segway? I've always wondered what that feels like. My fav is the red top with pencil skirt and belt - killer.

Sihaya, the Segway was AMAZING fun. I've never been on one before, but it was a great way to explore Chicago's lakefront. I did actually take a spill off it, but I was the only one and it was my own clumsy fault.

Laura, LOL no I am the only one who got taken down by the Segway! I took a tumble after having trouble navigating down a long slope, but I was the only one who even came close to having trouble on it, and the instructor was so astonished that it happened.
