K/R: silk shirt ($21 at JCP) and Petty booties

Stopped by JCPenney tonight (I almost never shop there but was attracted by the Joe Fresh sign). Noticed these sleeveless silk shirts by Worthington that were on sale for $20.99 (they also had a long-sleeved version at a similar price). There were some bright colors (lime green, kelly green etc.) along with black and white. I liked the black since it is not sheer but I almost never wear black near my face (feel like it is too much with my dark hair). What do you think about pairing it with white jeans and a bright cardigan? The quality seems good, and I like the length.

I also received Sam Edelman Petty booties in navy suede. I like them with the white bootcuts but was surprised that they don't seem to work all that well with straight leg jeans.

The silk blouse looks like a great summer piece--perfect for wearing alone or with a topper. It's hard to tell from the photo but is the armhole gapping or is it the pocket flap that is winging out? I love the black with the white pants--not so much with the denim for some reason. Love the Petty's with the white bootcuts.

i agree with kellygirl, i love this with the white pants, and not as much with the denim. i don't love it with that cardigan, am not sure its the right shape for that shirt.

Kelly, I think you are right - I checked and there is some gaping at the armholes.

Since it does not work very well with the cardigan and has the armhole issue when worn on its own, I might just return it.

Shame about the armholes, because otherwise I really like the top on you.

The booties, I think the issue is the ombre effect, which makes them look like they have white soles (in the pics) and that is good with the white, but not so good if your outfit does not have white. Hmmmm.
