K/R : report marks, a boyfriend, and a blazer

Several items I ordered this weekend from piperlime have just arrived. I'm undecided about all three of these.

First, the report marks booties in cobalt. I love the color and the heel feels pretty good for 3" but I am unsure I could make it 8 hours in them. They are extremely gapey from the side view and I am not sure I like this.

Next, a pair of AG Ex-boyfriend crops. These are one size up from my normal. I rolled one of the legs up once more to the length I prefer. I am not crazy about the whiskering at the hips and I think it makes them look even wider than normal. I also don't love the color - it's fine but I wanted either something lighter wash or something more distressed (that is not distressing on the leg, it's a label). So unless people absolutely love these they are going back.

Finally, a white cropped blazer. It has a ruffled blush bit at the back. It is slightly too small so i would have to exchange for a size up even if it's a keeper. The stance is too low but in principle I could fix this by moving the hook and eye up. I would wear this with skirts/dresses so never mind that it is clearly too short to wear w/ jeans.

I really like the blazer! I don't even mind it with pants/jeans. I don't mind the whiskering on the jeans, but I am a whiskering fan (unless it's really poorly done and fake looking). However, I'm not sure these look boyfriend-y, if that's what you're looking for. Your slouchy black pants look more like a boyfriend fit to my eye.

I think I should sit out the blue bootie debate since I decided against them for myself...

I am not a fan of the booties, I think there are better ones out there waiting for you!

I like the jacket, even with jeans. The jeans are ok, but I am not sure of your goal with them. I agree with Rae that they don't have that slouchy boyfriend look to them. If you don't love the whiskering I say send them back to their brethren in the warehouse.

I love the blazer (in a size up - I think this is a wee bit small). Not loving the booties from the side - I know others are okay with the gap but it bothers me anyway. I like the jeans but they don't look like a really BF fit.

Hmm, yeah, I agree the jeans are not really boyfriendy. I'm not sure i have the body type for the BF look I want. I was saying in Tanya's thread that I like the look of BF jeans sitting very low, right on the hip bone. These actually DO sit on my hip bone; it's just that my hip is so high that they don't even really look low rise. But any lower and my butt would be showing in back. =P I have another pair coming - a full length style with a lot more distressing - so maybe that will be better.

Some early jacket love too! Does anyone know if piperlime will honor the coupon code I used (that is now expired) for an even exchange? I definitely need a size up, as I can't really move my arms freely here. =P

Re: the bootie gap. I wonder if it's more noticeable because of the bright color? I don't really notice it on all of your nude ones.

Piperlime should be able to do it with an even exchange for the same garment. I had some trouble with an exchange before, but I was exchanging for a different item and used a gift card - in the end they were able to help me, so if you meet resistence keep at it.

I felt the same way about the blue - and as someone pointed out, for whatever reason, the inside of the blue is bright white, which draws even more attention to the gap. In my pics, I felt like someone had circled my small ankles with a highlighter.

I think the jacket in a size up will be great. Not a fan of the jeans. Unfortunately the boots do seem a bit too gappy.

Ha, Rae, I hadn't noticed the white lining until you mentioned it, and now I totally see the highlighter effect in my photos too!

Isis, unfortunately those boots don't appear to be available in a 7.5 or 8 in any color. They are a great deal though!

Those boots are an awesome color but i agree with the others in saying they too look too "gappy". The jeans are just "meh" for me but i also think the blazer has potential. Online ordering can be frustrating!

Pass on the booties. I think the jeans are cute, but they don't seem baggy enough for BFs...I like the idea of the jacket, but I'm wondering if you size up, if the sleeves will get even baggier (right now they seem a little wide, especially given how fitted the body of the jacket is). It seems like it fits you through the shoulders now too, so don't know if a size up will be too big...I guess there is only one way to find out :).

Love the jacket Diana - but agree that a size up will probably work better. I like the jeans on you but they don't slouch enough for me to be true BF jeans. Love the colour of the booties on you but the fit seems off unfortunately.

Agree that the color of the booties are great but they are too gappy. Don't love the whiskering either. The white jacket looks great in principle but it really depends how the larger size fits.

Thanks everyone for your input. I am going to return the boots and jeans, and exchange the jacket for the larger size. Jonesy, I hear you about the fit on the arms but I think I'd probably cuff them anyway (the lining is the same blush color as the ruffle) so it would not be as much of an issue. I will wait to see how the larger size fits though! I think the shoulders on the current one are actually slightly small although I'm sure my bad posture is not helping things any; the shoulder is that slightly puffy style that I like, which should actually stick out slightly past my actual shoulder.

Pity about the booties --- such a gorgeous colour, but indeed, far too gappy at the ankle. I personally liked the pants a lot, whiskering included --- I thought they were very flattering on you; but of course, they don't look boyfriend-y enough perhaps. Glad the jacket's sounding like it will work --- I love the sharpness of it up front and then the delicate little ruffle hiding in the back: tres chic!
