K/R -- Shopbop LD Tuttle The Slick Baby Heel Booties

I have been on the lookout for a pair of pointy-toe booties, with a not-too-tall heel. When I saw these on Shopbop, I ordered them.

I like every thing about them except the very fine goatskin leather at the top. The upper part (picture #1) that joins the bootie above the instep is made from such thin leather that I am afraid these will rip just from normal taking on-and-off. I really like these booties, but the nearly $300 price tag is a lot for something that may break quickly. What do you think?

Yay = keep them. Shopbob will make it right if they rip (pay for repair, for example).

Nay = return, don't risk it.

Does anyone have any other pointy-toe booties to suggest (3" and under heel please)?

I vote KEEP. I love them, and the soft leather is nothing but a plus!

I'm not aware of ShopBop's track record for customer service in case of a problem, but my feeling is that soft leather is tougher than it feels. They look perfect for you!

They are very good looking but they do look fragile. I guess the leather would have to be thin to be able to tie it. At that price I would not want to have to worry about them so I would vote to return them and keep looking for a simple pointed toe bootie.

I think their gorgeous but for at that price point, I don't want to worry about ripping/tearing. I think I'd probably return them and keep looking.

They are a very cool design. Have you read any of the online product reviews? People are generally very honest about how well the shoe's worked for them. It might give you some guidance as to whether they're worth holding on to or not.

I have three pairs of LD Tuttle shoes. They are very well made. Last summer I had my heeled gladiators resoled and even my cobbler commented on the quality.

Okay, Denise -- you look adorable in that striped top and those skinny jeans! You'd look adorable no matter what you wore on your feet!

I love the looks of these booties, but I'm also thinking that for almost $300, you don't want to worry about normal wear and tear. annagybe's experience sounds reassuring . . . but look into shopbop's return/warranty just to be sure there are no unpleasant surprises.

You had me at "very fine goatskin". *sigh* I love the vibe of these and the detail at the back! I guess it depends on how big $300 is in your world. They might wear out faster than a pair of Frye's, but you probably won't be wearing them everyday. I doubt the leather would actually break (it's more likely to stretch) and the manufacturer might warrant the stitching. Oh dear, I'm afraid I haven't helped you, but they do look adorable on you --espesh with that outfit!

I cannot help on the brand or Shopbob experience but they look like nice booties. I second the suggestions on looking for a feedback online. Maybe you can contact a manufacturer and see what kind of guarantee they have on these booties?

I am still unsure what to do! I do love the fit and feel and think I will adore the small heel. I have 3 pairs of skinny jeans that will work with these, the ones I'm wearing in the photo work especially well.

Anna I am glad to hear that LD Tuttle is good quality. I think I will contact Shopbop and ask them what is their policy. I feel Nordstrom would stand behind their products and would rectify a problem if there was one, so that is the standard I am going by.
