I'm working from home, and am stuck waiting on something before I can start the Big, Long Deadline-Driven Task I was expecting to work on today, so I may as well be productive on something in the meantime, right?

I went to AT and Loft the other day during one of their giant store-wide discounts and picked up a few things, trying to focus on the types of annoying-to-fit clothing I hate ordering online. Which, probably not coincidentally, are exactly the things in short supply in my wardrobe.

First, I found a pair of actual jeans at Loft (seen in pics #1-#5 and #10). Anyone who's seen my WIWs has probably figured out that I'm not much of a jeans person, but I currently only have one pair of jeans worth wearing (Wit & Wisdom skinnies), and am getting really sick of the limited top and shoe options that work with them. These are curvy fit straight legs. Do they look like they fit okay? I'm not looking for something to set the world on fire, but I hate jeans shopping so much that I'm hoping these work for basic casual outfits like #1. (Note: I have two different shoes on with the jeans in all the pictures to show how they look with different heel heights. One are my cognac booties and the other are cowboy boots. Also note that the black t-shirt under the jacket is probably clingier than I'd usually wear visibly with jeans, but I wanted something that would show the fit of the other clothes easily.)

Second is this tweedy knit blazer, also from Loft, seen in #2-4 and #8. I really want to like this. The style and material seem like a good balance between softness and structure, I love the tweed, and I think it looks nice from the front. After seeing the back view, though, I'm reconsidering. (And my apologies for inflicting that picture on the Internet, along with my makeup-free face in some of the others .) Those wrinkles make it look like the fit is definitely off somehow. Maybe it's too long in the body? Too tight? Too loose? All three at the same time, somehow? I'm awful at judging fit on jackets, which may be why I have so few. I'd probably be wearing this mostly with dresses, if that matters.

Third is this black pleated knit skirt (#6-7). I tried this on without expecting much, but I actually kind of like it a lot. I feel like it's something I could wear a lot of different ways and it's interesting without being too crazy. I'm trying it here with my new polka! dot! belt! This was only $15 when I got it, and it's less a K/R than a definite keep.

Fourth is a fitted sheath dress that doesn't seem to be online (#8-9). The details aren't coming out that well, but it's a thick knit and has small white dots on it. I liked it a lot in the store, but I'm not sure the fit is great after seeing the pictures. I'd be wearing hose with it in real life, though, so it would probably be a little less clingy.

#10 is the jeans in the dressing room with a shirt that didn't quite work out. I'm showing it because the combination of jeans and soft button-down feels very uncharacteristic for me, but I kind of like it anyway. Am I delusional?

Thanks for looking and for reading this mountain of text if you've made it this far. All advice/feedback welcome!

Edit to add pic from store of next size up in jacket as #11.
