K/R: Eliza J Polka Dot Jersey Shift Dress

"Inspired" by some recent weight gain (those are air-quotes, ladies and gents), I bought another Eliza J shift. Fortunately, it's 60% off so when (ahem) I lose that weight I won't feel bad about spending big bucks on an ill-fitting dress.

I think it's a keeper, but I want to run it past the YLF gurus to ensure I'm not being blinded by sale goggles. Please vote: YAY = keep, NAY = return.

I love the print, and I think it draws the eye away from the boatneck (and my IT shoulders). Dressing it up: my clutch (omg dot overload) and retro black heels. Dressing it down: with jeans, as a tunic. Bonus picture of the dress as a top for my midi; not loving this last look.

I think it is gorgeous on you. I love the way the pattern changes. I find it very flattering. Re the last picture with dress as top, it is sitting just a little too blousey at thew waistline for me. How about tuck a bit more and add a slim belt.

Adorable dress on you! I much prefer it as a dress than the other variations, but it's not just your dress, I always veer that way.

Anyway, it's a keep from me!

I'd layer toppers over it, like sweaters, cropped denim, cropped blazers. What about a shirt under it (like a jumper)?

ETA: ha ha, I went to stalk your dress and add it to my cart, but based on the remaining Petite sizes, I see: True FitTM Size for sara: Not Recommended

I really like this dress and think it looks great on you! I vote keep. I'm with Sara that I like it best worn as a dress and would layer over it rather than trying to wear it tucked in as a shirt, but that's just me. I can see this working fabulously with a cropped denim jacket and black leggings also.

It looks lovely on you, and if the material is semi-substantial you could get a lot of wear with our "seasons" (also air quotes side bar: did you watch Arrested Development? If so, any time I see quotes when people are writing I picture Lucille with her 8am martini doing air quotes. If you haven't watch it, you should.)

Anyway! I think this looks best as a dress, too. You could wear with fun flats or boots until the weather cools down. Then you could wear with tights, layer a long sleeve shirt underneath, wear with a jacket (blazer, moto, cardigan, denim), etc.

@all: sounds like a winner! I'm cutting the tags and tempted to wear it to work tomorrow. The sky might fall; that's two dresses in two days for me!

@Deborah: oooh, thanks for the ideas! I'm not loving the dress-as-top look as-is, but I'll definitely try again with your suggestion!

@MNsara & @christy: That's hilarious! I think you might be the first person I've heard of using the TrueFit feature! I love the denim jacket idea, too, not the least because I've got my eye on a cropped denim jacket when my budget resets at the end of September

@Aida: No, I don't watch Arrested Development (but plenty of friends tell me it's my sort of humor). You made me literally laugh out loud, though, which is unfortunate because then I had to explain myself to co-workers ... :P. I love the layer-under idea, too; been wanting an excuse to try a white collared shirt under a patterned black top for a while!
