K/R: Citron coat with pics

Here you go. It's a lined boucle in a tight weave. Not as fleuro as it looks here, but bright and sour. All feedback welcome!

It's actually a little thicker but lighter. They are about the same in terms of when I'd wear them.

Here come I, not to span, but to raise questions.

I like the coat but am having trouble judging the fit from the photos. Is it okay done up?

And then, here is my (slight) reservation. I love this colour on you and I love coloured coats. I think a bright coat is an absolutely brilliant idea. (ETA: Har har har, I am so punny.)

And yet...if it were me, I'd be wondering what I'd wear it with. It looks a little weird to me with the grey and black. I don't know why. Is that grey a bit on the olive side?

What else will you wear underneath? What are your gloves, beanie, scarf?

I think I'd like it with blue, so regular denim would work....

Suz raises some good points. We haven't seen it properly done up - just open, and folded closed in the first shot. How's the fit when it's buttoned?

Personally, i LOVE the colour. If the warmth factor is ok for you, I'd keep it. I actually do like it with the greys & blacks, and think it will go with pretty much everything in your closet.

Hmm. I like it. I like the colour, the fit seems good, although I'm always the best judge of that unless it's painfully obvious, duh. I also like it with grey and black. I wear a bit of that colour too, and find I like it with army green, white and denim blue.

I love the colour on you & yet I see what Suz sees with the grey & black underneath - it somehow detracts from the coat. IMO it would be perfect over a column of colour; but that might be my more classic side coming out

I love it on you! Love the color, the fit, paired with black and gray! The slouchy, single-button fit is chic. If leopard is a neutral, then so is acid green/citron!

I'm missing something as I feel it looks great over the grey and black. It's such a strong statement colour that wearing it over neutrals really makes it shine. While wearing it over colour is definitely one way to wear it I am not sure that would be consistent with your style Una. I'm expecting that you want to edge the coat up. This is one of the few colours I find has an edge to it, it's very cool! But it could easily fall into more classic territory depending in styling. I think you are going to really enjoy this coat.

What a pure pleasure to see this on you. Do you do taupe, mushroom, donkey, bone? I have a sweater - not this magnificent, of course - in citron
that looks amazing with an olive that's actually perceptibly green. Though any of the olives, I would imagine: breen, bluish olive, olive drab, spanish olive...

I think it must be the tones that are transmitting on some monitors perhaps are not that accurate. I say if others like it, then ignore my doubts. In theory I know I would love it with grey; I just don't here, for some reason. But it could also be that I am wishing for a column of colour, as Caro says -- or rather, a column of neutral.

I still think it would be useful to see how it plays with the stuff you''l wear under it. Just for the pure fun of that, if nothing else.

I have been looking forward to seeing this coat on you. It looks like it is roomy enough to layer under for more warmth. The color! I gasped when I saw you in it. It is bright but it doesn't overpower you. Please keep.

Is it wrong to admit that, as with bags, I don't consider what I'm wearing underneath when I choose a coat? I think about weather, function, bulk and maybe dressiness if it's a formal occasion, but it NEVER has occurred to me that what I'm wearing with a coat might be an issue! I will have to ponder this more, as it clearly is something other people notice given the comments here.

Will post a closed pic too. I thought I took one but apparently not.

I love it! I think it is the perfect coat to brighten up winter and will work with everything. I don't think much about matching coats. My coat choices are more about how cold it is outside and length needed.

una, i also think about outerwear as functional wear… i worry about it keeping me warm and/or dry. i worry about how it will travel, but i never worry if it will match my outfit.

For what it's worth, it has never occurred to me to think about whether the color of my coat matches the colors in my outfit under it. I'm perfectly happy just matching my coat to the weather!

It's super FAB! And it's great with tons of colors. I think what may be throwing some people odd is the color of your dresser behind you. And then I noticed in the first pic that your boots are on direct line with the bottom edge of the dresser.

I'd like it with booties or over the knee boots. You're a bit chopped with those, but the coat is truly amazing on yu!
