K/R: Allsaints dress

Well, if this dress is short on me, then you know it's short! Here it is worn three ways but otherwise unstyled. Sorry about the sunglasses but otherwise I'd have to do a million retakes because of my morning face.

No comments from me yet, I'd like to know what the forum thinks. I would have gotten this in black, but it was sold out. However, with a white dog, I'm probably better off with grey anyway.

I've been waiting for this. 10/10 from me. I think the length looks perfect on you. Will you be comfortable enough with the length to wear it to work. Zipped at the shoulder is my personal favorite. I think you should keep so I can live vicariously through you.

ETA - I'm assuming you'll be wearing it with tights of some kind and/or boots due to your climate in which case I think the length is fine. What is it with these short on us short girl lengths? That was the one fit issue I used to never have!

I kind of love it, but it is verra short. (What's up with that? I'm 5'2" and I tried on several dresses this weekend that were way to short for me!) I think it would be great with tights.

It's nice, but for whatever reason it's not wowing me. Maybe because I agree that black would have suited you better than this shade of gray.

And what is going on with the length? It's not short on me at all. Weird.

Tights and boots and you are set! I like you in the grey and your black boots can bookend.

I like it! It doesn't look too short if worn with tights. Black might have been fab, but with the gray you could use gray tights and black boots, or dark sheet tights and boots, or see how black/black looks.

Oh, yes - this will be worn with tights and my tall boots. Also with skinnies (leather, perhaps) and booties as a tunic. No chance of bare legs in this climate.

The more I'm wearing it the more I like it. The drapiness is far more flattering in motion than it looks in a photo somehow.

AM, I don't get the length at all!

Yay!! I love it! What size did you get? I tried on a 2 the other day (they only had 0 and 2), and it was much too bootylicious.

I got the 6 and I think it's right. Smaller would have been too clingy, and I don't even have booty! I bet a 4 would be perfect on you, Rae - you are generally one size down from me - and it's still in stock on the site.

As everybody else has said, tights and boots, and you're all set.
I'm surprised that it's that short on you, though! I figured it would be knee length. I'll be glad when manufacturers figure out that not everybody wants to wear mini-skirts!

AM, I actually think the booty makes the side profile more flattering because it isn't the best side look, even on the model! But wow, it's short. I'm only 5'1". Not sure if this means I have long legs or a long torso or what. I'm comfortable in this length with sleeves and leg coverage, but I don't see how this could work as a dress for anyone much taller than me.

Ah, glad to have seen the side view on AM in the 4... I'm 5'4" so I would like to wear it either short or form fitting. I think the 4 would be too scandalous on my still.

Una, I think we are the same size on bottom nowadays, even though I'm still one size down on top.

This looks fantastic on you, definitely keep! I think it will be a perfect addition to your wardrobe. Another vote for tights and boots. I'm too tall for it, but I'll enjoy it on you!

And you are 5'1"? Wow, they keep making dresses shorter and shorter!

Yes, I think it needs to be a bit short because it is voluminous with the top layer. Too long may veer into frump territory. But too short is not good either!

Ha ha! You know what I'm going to say. LOVE IT! And it is ridiculously comfortable. Besides, don't think of it as too short. Think of it as just long enough to wear with tights and boots (which is how it wants to be worn if you ask me because it has both long sleeves and layers, so clearly for cooler days) and just short enough to be worn as a long tunic with skinnies.

It looks fantastic on you, Una. And I totally agree with you that it is even more flattering in person/motion. I think the pictures are lovely, but that in person it is much more figure flattering than the pictures show.

K. it is more fun in person - I spent the morning posing in ridiculous ways in front of the mirror, instead of cleaning the house. It has that kind of not-sexy flattery that is hard to find. And I am completely unstyled here. I should really post styled K/Rs.

Scarlet, I agree with you - my first impulse was the black. But I have recently found straight up black is getting harsher for me as I'm getting older... or maybe it's just my winter sallowness. Would love to try it for comparison though.

Don't know how I missed this! Una I love it on you. Fit looks great and no question the style is you. I think the grey looks really good and I would love to see the black if OT came back in your size. I hear you on wearing black but I just think the drama of it in this style would be amazing on you.
