K/R - Utility Jacket - YouLookFab Forum

You may have seen a post where I asked your opinion of several green jackets I had.

One of the jackets, an Eddie Bauer jacket that I loved, struck me as shapeless and baggy in the pictures, especially in the sleeves. And practically no one liked the Jones New York Sport jacket either. I'm replacing them with this Hinge jacket, in picture one. It is not a K/R as I have already worn it a couple times. It feels like a sleeker version of the other two. I hope you like it!

The K/R is the dark blue version, the second picture. It fits exactly the same. I thought it would be good when I wear green pants. Or want a more nautical look (that's a joke - I live in the desert). What do you think? I also have a blue denim jacket and a white denim jacket that I could wear with green pants or shorts. I like the longer length of this jacket, though.

I also found in our hall closet a surplus military jacket of my son's. It weighs a ton! And is very baggy. I've given up any thoughts of wearing it. The third picture shows the military surplus jacket, the Eddie Bauer jacket , and the Hinge jacket for color comparison.

I can see why you might want the blue jacket. Do you wear jackets a lot? If so, get it. If your weather turns from freezing to hot in the same week, maybe you don't need it.

The olive jacket fits you so well! Could you link to it? The navy version is great as well so if you have lots of colors
In your wardrobe that play nicely with navy then I would get it, too.

Thumbs up from me. I have a utility jacket in sage green and I want another in a different colour. I find it so useful on cooler Spring/Summer days and early Autumn.

Joy, thanks. We cool down at night so even if it's a hot day, we usually need something in the evening. I could wear it for three seasons.

I like the new jacket but not sure if I'd say to get the exact one in blue or not. I find that often when I buy a second version of the same thing in another color it doesn't get worn much. Since I've done this enough times now over the years (and wasted some $$ doing it), I'd probably suggest to wait and get something different in a blue or other color if you feel you still need another jacket.

Love the Hinge jackets...both colors! I have a light gray colored version from a couple years ago that I love. Great pockets, good shaping, easy. Total winner.

My vote is to get it. This jacket shape compliments you and seems to fint into your life. 3 season wear sounds great.

Texstyle, I wondered about that. I love the pocket configuration, the fit and the feel of the fabric, though. I've been looking and looking and looking. I'll have to think this over.

JAileen -- I say that if utility jackets fit in with your style, having another one in blue (especially in a style you know will be flattering) sounds like a good idea to me. I, myself, own 3 such jackets (in olive, tan and navy). I have a mostly casual lifestyle and these jackets are perfect toppers for Spring and Fall (and even on some cool summer nights). Although the olive one gets the most wear, the other two get plenty on their own. (I am a duplicator, and have no problem owning a well fitting item in more than one color. But I do see Texstyle's point.)
