While I brought home a few key pieces at the NAS pre-sale, I also made some online orders that arrived this week for items that I didn't encounter in person. To my excitement, I picked up a couple winners that I couldn't resist wearing to work right away:

#1-4: Halogen ponte skirt in black and white chevron stripes.
Worn with mesh polka dot ruffled blouse, turquoise beaded necklace, and teal pumps.

#5-8: Bellatrix sheer print tunic in turquoise.
I fell in love with this similarly cut, sheer V-neck blouse that's also part of the anniversary sale; however, the largest size ran very snug in the bust, and for a button-down top that's VERY much a deal breaker.
I was a bit sad to walk away from it. Then, while searching online for similar blouses, I came across this beautiful plus size blouse - the color and print made my heart sing. I took a chance, wondering if the small plus sized version would perhaps give me the loose, drapey silhouette that I'd wanted in the first place, and it TOTALLY did.
I'll try to post an un-tucked version soon.

For now, here's how I wore it to work with a black circle midi skirt, faux-coral necklace on a chain, and orange pumps. (It was VERY dark and stormy this morning - far too dark and wet for a photo outside - so these photos are of my rumpled self at the end of the day. You'll have to imagine me wrinkle-free.)

The online orders I made that are going back:
Born treddy boot in gray. Gorgeous boot, but didn't really feel like me. Plus, it was pretty snug in the instep, but was much less soft than my Frye Rory boots, so I wasn't confident that they would soften up enough for my comfort level.

Nic & Zoe tweed pencil skirt: Oh gosh, do I EVER have a crush on this skirt. The colors make me drool. And with the cognac leather jacket? Oh, that would have been pretty. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, as I tried a variety of sizes and they were all just cut too straight for my frame. Bummer.

All in all, though, I'm pretty happy with my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finds, and with the two non-NAS shoe splurges that recently popped into my closet. I'm particularly pleased with this blue blouse and the cognac jacket, both of which seem to be high quality and fit just the way I'd hoped. It's nice to find a few gems for fall!
