Warning - I am a talker and this turned out to be way longer than I'd originally intended. Gold stars for anyone able to read the whole thing!

Oh my gosh I am so excited guys!

I bought my first pair of premium denim!!!!!

I need your help in celebrating because I don't have any buddies to be thrilled about this with me.

The whole weekend I've been lamenting that I really wanted to take advantage of the 6pm.com $69.95 sale on La Canadiennes, but that I wasn't sure what size to get because I'd never tried them on. Last night Boy Toy said, "Let's go up to Nordstrom's so you can try on a couple of pairs and get a feel."

He's so sweet

So we drive all the way up there (it's like 40 miles from the house) at 8 p.m. I'm told they don't have any at all. Boo! I felt terrible that I'd dragged him all the way up there for nothing and then he says ... wait for it ...

"Why don't we go look at the jeans? They're closing soon, so you won't be able to try on more than a few pairs, and that way you won't have time to get too overwhelmed."

Is this guy a keeper or what??

I tried on CoH Amber, CoH Ava, Joe's Honey. All were thumbs down. Amber's rise way too low. Honey's rise WAY too low. Ava rise ok, but then gapped a lot.

The good news was the length. All had 34" inseams, which were enough for me to wear them with high heels no problem!

I was feeling slightly frustrated, but then the sales girl told me to go to a different section and try David Kahn.

They had only 2 or 3 pairs, and they were on the clearance rack. Fortunately, they had a size 29. I tried them on and nearly fainted.

We have a winner!!!!! My booty looked especially luscious, the length was such that I may actually have to have them hemmed, the rise was just right, and the gap was tiny to nonexistent.

They were priced at $174 but were on sale for $115. I didn't even hesitate.

They are a flare boot cut, very slim in the thigh with a nice flare below the knee.

They are a sytle called Nikki bootcut and the wash is "capri."

I am alarmed about something though... There is a warning on the tag that they use extra dye for this wash and that it may rub off on furniture and clothing! I washed them twice this morning (all by themselves) in cold water and have them hanging to dry. Will that be sufficient? Do I need to wash them alone all the time?

As soon as they dry I'll put them on and post pictures. If these hold up well, I'll look for them in other styles too.
