Hi Everyone!

{waving wildly}

yah, I have been gone a loooong time. There's a reason though. I've become totally obsessed with something else lately, and in a minute you'll understand why!

So..... Chip (my BF) and I got engaged a while back, and then with spectacularly bad timing, got pregnant shortly thereafter.

Yup. 41-year-old me, with two adult children, is pregnant. But it gets better... it's twins! We're hoping to make it to the end of April/first week of May.

So, yah honestly I have been completely obsessed with reading about pregnancy, twinhood, etc. And this has not been a smooth pregnancy so I just haven't been focused on fashion. Things were so iffy earlier on that I didn't feel comfortable investing in a maternity wardrobe.

I bought one pair of jeans, two pairs of "work" slacks, a few tops, and a couple of pairs of flats (my high heeled days are over for a while) from Target. I've been able to wear regular knit tops and just stretch them over my belly. I really like that a lot better than having loose, empire waist tent tops. I want people to know I'm pregnant and haven't just been hitting the potato chips too hard!

So, the Target pants are all really too short for me, even with flats. I've just been swallowing my pride and going with it because I knew my work days were numbered.

What I didn't know was how numbered they'd be. I'm a little over 5 months and my doctor told me today that he is taking me out of work.

So, ladies, if you'll forgive my absence and come to my rescue I will be so appreciative! I have two challenges now:

1. Chip really wants us to be married before the babies come, and wants an actual wedding. Because of the difficulties I've been having with the pregnancy, we've had to super fast-track things, and we're getting married Feb 12. I need something to wear. We're going to have an ivory/gold color scheme. I don't need something that looks totally wedding dress-like, but he wants to wear a tux, and it will be a church wedding so I want a long, fairly fancy dress. And I *don't* want a darn empire waist. Everyone who will be there knows darn well I'm heavily pregnant and I have no desire to try to disguise that. I don't know where to start. I am no longer able to spend whole days at a time shopping and being on my feet and I'm pretty panicked about finding something decent in so short a time. Plus, I'm totally unwilling to pay huge money. Frankly, I don't want to spend more than US$100-$150 'cause I'm feeling really cheap now that we have babies to support!

2. Now that I'm officially out of work, I will spend the vast majority of the rest of my pregnancy and the first several months after the birth at home. I really don't want to wear pajamas all day every day, and y'all who know me know I don't want to be in schlumpy sweats either, even though I'll be alone at home most of the time. Whatever I wear has to be stretchy to accommodate my growing belly, of course, and comfortable enough to work as lying-down clothes as well as moving slowly around the house clothes. Plus cheap. Cheap is my motto now.
But still sexy? Can I have it all? LOL

whew! I know that's a lot to throw at you!!!
