Jeans Style for Winter 2015?!

Hi Ladies,

I have just been perusing Stockholm Streetstyle, and I cannot believe the pants styles I am seeing. I know Angie has highlighted this on the blog but this is the first I have seen of it on the street, so to speak.

Very few skinny legs and lots of flared, wide leg and boot cut jeans.

This is my favourite so far:)

Glad I have kept my bootcuts. I am quite excited about having a play with them and seeing what I come up with for our winter.

Those of you who are in your cooler months already, are you seeing this where you live?

I have kept m bootcuts too Deb, hemmed in 2 lengths, and there is no doubt that it is a much more flattering jeans look for me.
The only downside is that winter is our rainy season!

Yaaay! Music to my ears (and eyes). Not only have I kept my bootcuts, but my last denim purchase (about 6 or 7 months ago) were two pairs of "baby bootcuts".

I can't say that I've seen much of it where I live--US Midwest--because it's been so slushy and cold that almost everyone is in tucked-in skinnies. This even includes me--and I'm a die-hard bootcut fan and not at all fond of the skinny craze. I don't remember in the Fall... I'll keep my eyes open for when it warms up. I know I'll be sporting mine!

I'm in the same boat as KM, far too much snow for this trend to come into play here, but I'm curious to see how long it takes the Midwest to catch onto it, and curious to see how/if my existing wardrobe and personal style preferences can adopt it.

Leaving this for others. They look fantastic but just don't work for my life. I bought a pair of good weight linen ones to try them for summer, because there is no way I'm wearing them in the rain. I wore them once during the day & felt really uncomfortable in them I am so not a wide-leg pants person. Flow-y wide pants for evening I can do

Interesting Caro, because mine have been in my closet for about 5 years! Each year I try to get them out and style them but so far no success:( Generally a wider leg pant makes me feel dumpy:( I am going to have a play tho as I do like the look, and our winters are not overly wet:)

And see those poncho kind of things at Country Road and I think Witchery... Starts getting quite a bit of volume top and bottom doesn't it...

I love wide leg pants! And because most people have cleared them out of their closets, there are lots of them in op shops. I've bought several pairs (brown, black and denim, $3 each!) and a black wool crepe pleated waist slouchy pair that are really similar to what I've seen at Country Road lately. I'll be wearing them a lot this winter. I used to have a poncho like the one in the photo about 20 years ago.

I don't want to wear them with cropped tops or similar, so I'll be looking at pairing them with fitted jumpers (pullovers) and casual jackets to keep structure and not look overwhelmed.

I have been drafting a post in my head about my wardrobe for the year like so many others have done. I have one pair of bootleg/flares but considering another pair for different shoes....

I used to wear them with a fitted tee or shirt (untucked)....I prefer not to tuck so it is finding the right tops that can work on my shape to look modern...

NZ is surely known for winter rain but there are enough fine days to wear a pair...as long as I avoid rugby practice days when skinnies into "gumboots" is by far the best option!!

I didn't see flares in San Francisco when I was there a week ago. I do see boot cuts around here though, but not done in a modern way. I *think* that is blogger Caroline Sandstrom, I love her style and Stockholm Street Style in general. The abundance of flares on that site is something I've noticed only for the past month. Some of the outfits aren't as successful as this one. Here she gets the length so perfectly. There are other outfits where the hems are too long, with at least a foot of wetness at the bottom.

Flares look great but they require such exact tailoring. I know the 70s are what's trending but I'm not sure … still thinking about how this works with my present style.
