Looking for any input on these two pairs of jeans. I just wore a basic white tee, no belts, not styled just to focus on the jean itself.

First up are the Emerson by CoH. I sized down from the boyfriend fit so they are more fitted. Too tight? Unflattering whiskering? Pulling just below waistband? And the length- regular, rolled, or just the wrong length all around?

Next (3-5) are the Banana Republic resin wash released hems. Pic 3 shows the 26" original length and pics 4 & 5 show it rolled on the thigh to a 23" length. The waist on these if kept definitely needs to be brought in. Fit, length, just not for thick ankles?

Jean shopping is very frustrating for me as an hourglass/pear with larger legs all the way down. But I wear jeans so often with my lifestyle that they are necessary. Crops maybe just aren't for me- and that's ok. Both can be returned so please be honest- I'd much rather spend the time to get the right jeans (I have a hard time with JFE).

I personally like a little bit of distressing so I may be just slightly partial to the first ones, and they don't require any alterations, which is a big plus to me.

I'm no expert TBH, but I think the first pair look pretty good. I like both unrolled and rolled lengths. Is the second pair a little snug through the thigh area? Or might they relax with wear?

Yes, no altering is a huge plus for me too, Texstyle. Whiskering/weird washes always have me second guessing so I usually stay as basic as possible.

Diane, I have the second pair rolled under on the thigh area (instead of rolling the hem) since they are the released hem. Pretty sure they are loose enough and definitely have enough stretch in the fabric.

I think the first pair look great - those are nice looking jeans.

Can you show us what the resin wash looks like at 24" or even 25" (unless that's where they started you might go a little longer than 23".... hard to tell with the mirror and the angles.

Both seem to fit well, but I would get 1. I like the length, and it seems I am seeing less rolled these days on many bloggers.

I like the first pair - the fit, and the shape of the front pockets looks nice on you.

I like the longer length a bit better, maybe try some darker shoes with the shorter length. They both fit really well overall.

I understand your frustration as I've been shopping for jeans lately with not much luck. I have the opposite problem as my legs are (relatively) slim and jeans that fit at the waist/tummy are baggy at the thigh.

I think these look like a really good fit and are flattering on you. I prefer the first pair a bit more but both work.

I like both pairs on you, and the longer length on the BR pair.

BrieN, the angles and lighting-- I really need to have my daughter take my pictures (but afraid they'll end up on her snapchat!). Secret Squirrel (cute name!)--I think you hit upon something with the pockets too. Overall, I think I too prefer the first pair. I feel like I have to try too hard to get the Banana Republic ones to work- not sure I have it in me and maybe it's ok to just let the kick flare trend pass me by. On to the next thing!

I agree with #1. I also have the opposite problem, if it fits in the waist it is often too big in the hips and legs. I don't think I have ever had to take in the waist of jeans, that's just a foreign concept to me!

The ankle length looks the best on you (#1) in my opinion followed by #3.
Thr fit through the abdomen and leg looks great.

I prefer #1 both rolled and unrolled, it looks great to me.

#3 also looks good, and at the full-length, but trickier to make work depending on the shoe.

I love all this help! Yes, number one it is and the banana republic ones to be returned. I think a crop is just too tricky with my ankles to get the right look.

I think they both fit very well. I particularly like #1. Awesome that you don't need alterations for these jeans!
