I think it looks like kid's clothing, I think that you have to be careful with the graphic t fad.
They can look great but the designs need to be really unique and have some kind of an edge to work (IMO).
Urban outfitters has always had great artwork on their t's.
I am just not wild about this J crew one.
Hmmm, I am strangely attracted to it (though I wouldn't actually buy a $68 t shirt). I could see it working with some slim white jeans. I guess it's the bright orange which I love. I know it's all the rage among the J crew addicts...
Is this, like, some secret club you have to know about? Like a hidden Easter egg on a DVD? Only the really cool kids get to see the Zebra t-shirt? However did you find it?
I'm a JCrew addict and an animal lover, but I couldn't wear this shirt. I'd buy it for my 2.5 year old niece, though. I agree that it does look juvenile. I think if it were black or brown it would be better.
I much prefer their current floral graphic tees. I have a JCrew gift card that I have to use within 30 days and I'm waiting for one of those to go on sale.
tarzy, I think a lot of these items are in their spring look book, but are not actually for sale yet. A lot of items are being released mid February to mid March. So they aren't listed for sale yet. Not sure if this one is for sale yet though, I didn't look.
I was sick all weekend in bed and decided to check out the JCrew aficionada website, which was hilarious (unintentionally). That's where I got this super hot tip to share with the YLFers
Oh good, I saw this shirt when it was first posted but didn't want to sound like a negative nelly so I didn't say anything. Glad no one else likes it either, hehe.
Later in the spring, the shirt is also supposed to come in more neutral colors (it's in the lookbook in white and black, if I remember correctly) and it's a cool graphic T.
I must out myself as a JCrew fan too -- just not this item. It is really fascinating that the brand has evolved to the point that people follow it on websites. Remember when JCrew was all about rollneck sweaters??
Laura, I beg to differ with you about the color orange. I think it depends on your skin tone. Maybe it wouldn't be for most caucasians but I know for me orange is a great summer color. In fact, I bought the J. Crew Caterina shirt in this exact shade of orange (with polka dots) at the end of the season last summer and I can't wait to break it out this summer with my white jeans.
Oh, sorry Shana. I should have said that I meant "summer" in the sense of "Color Me Beautiful," and not in the sense of season of the year. Duh. I still have San's thread on finding your color palette on my mind.
So what I actually meant was that this JCrew orange doesn't fit with the color palette that I, as a "summer," am supposed to wear best.
Of course orange is a fantastic color in the summertime! I only wish I could wear it
Oh Laura, now what you are saying makes sense. I'm sorry to jump on you about the orange comment. In my head I was thinking, "oh no, not another ylf rule that I am breaking!!!"
