jacket advice for a pear?

I'm new to the forum (great site). I'm a new mom at 25 and now find myself a pear with a xs or s top and a medium bottom in everything. I'm pretty tall, at 5'8". I don't have any pictures of my new body!

I'm also going back to school for a master's and would like to "up" my wardrobe inexpensively. So, I'm looking for cheap and something young, not frumpy, but very grad-schoolish.

I love jackets and can't decide which would work better. Advice on this (or any other suggestions!) would be greatly appreciated.

Although I love patchwork I would be afraid a patchwork print in a jacket would be tiring after a little while. Other than that I like all of your choices and you have great taste.
Have you checked out the NAS that everyone is talking about? There are some great buys there and the sale prices are very good.

I really like the last 3. Not keen on the second one. I like the first but you might have limited outfit options think it would need other pieces to be fairly plain x

Thanks for the advice. The ON ones are awesome and I've had good luck there in the past. I worry about the military one coming too low (at a bad level for my hips and shape, but I LOVE the gray. The other two are great, but I'll have to research how to wear seersucker. Thanks!

I have that military jacket in my ON shopping cart right now, but I haven't found it in a store yet to try it on. I have tried on the last blazer you posted (in a different color) and I thought it was tailored pretty nicely.

Just wondered how "new" a new mom you are? And if you thought you were a pear before you got pregnant? My reason for asking is that I am less pear shaped now, 18 months after my last baby, than I was when I first joined YLF, at 3 months post-baby.

I have a one year old. I'm not sure of my body type before, but I think I was more of an hourglass figure. Maybe I'll lose the weight, but I'm pretty sure my hips are bigger anyway.
