I was reviewing my needs list today. A lot of my blazers are old and I've been trying to replace them without success. I'm the long jacket princess and there are not a lot of that style available right now. I find this so stressful because I realized that blazers, more than boots, leggings etc are really the backbone of my style. I do not feel comfortable without that "third piece." To me a blazer makes an outfit polished, elegant, and interesting. It gives an outfit character and texture. Plus I run cold so you have the warmth factor. I wear them for work but also in my casual wardrobe. I even have cardigans that are more like knit blazers. Of all the possible elements of an outfit, blazers most define my look and I would not be comfortable or feel like me without them. Is there one class of item that defines your style?
