Well, in most cases I am not the quickest one to try new stuff, I prefer walking the familiar roads and tiptoeing when it comes to new things - even, as this case proves, when it comes to one very, very important matter such as keeping me warm in the winter. Cold, continental winter. Layering tights was a great solution (one of the first YLF tricks I had learnt).

Well, a few days ago I finally bought fleece lined tights and lo and behold I'm experiencing an unfamiliar feeling - there are times during the day when I actually feel not just warm, but hot. H.o.t! As in, I need to unbutton the coat or unwrap the scarf to cool down a bit.

Just saying... in case you run very cold, fleece lined tights might make things not just little, but much better for you.

Or has everyone already tried them?

I have never tried them, but I am not much of a skirt person at the best of times, let alone living in a place where it is freezing for 8 months of the year. I would like to wear more skirts though, so I have been thinking of picking up a pair!

I don't live in an area that gets cold enough for fleece-lined tights, but it sounds like they work really well! Will definitely keep them in mind if I go somewhere cold.

Astrid, I found mine at dm... actually, they found me, they were displayed conveniently so I thought at about €5-6 I'd give them a try. I didn't want to risk paying too much anyway if they don't work for me. They are footless though but that's fine for me.

2 winters ago I was in Berlin in January and layered two pairs of tights for warmth, one were even cotton only, so I think fleece lined ones would work wonders.

Una, there is no Gap in Germany unfortunately.

Thanks! Yes, I normally layer tights too - it's too cold for me with only one pair of tights, even if they are wool blend. I have a dm not far from me and I think I've bought some socks there before, I'm going to have a look if they stock the tights. I guess tights aren't part of SYC, or are they?

I have some too - they are pretty awesome. Very soft and comfortable inside. For the Canadian ladies, I got mine at Rickis.

Rae - I love the idea of the fleece lined skinnies, but with my luck and criteria I'm afraid that product would skip me, rather than me sitting the trend out...

Thanks Ornella! I somehow missed that thread, I'm going to go read it now. I went to dm this morning and bought the "thermo leggings". I obviously haven't worn them out yet, but they look very comfortable and warm to me. I also bought some legwarmers.

I adore warm items in cold months. I wera fleece lined tights often, especially under my jeans. I even have fleece sheets on the bed, so soft and warm.
