All these years, I only needed to brave any elements from my door to my car, and a nice warm parking garage shielded me from the rest. Now, I park in an open air structure, go down 4 flights of stairs, cross the street, and walk a block before I get to the office. It's not far, but it's a big enough difference for perpetually-cold me. I feel like my furry coat is too warrior-like, and my wool blend coat is... well, sadly low on the wool (from a juniors line in the mall).

I'm considering these (don't know why the one pic isn't loading, so here's a different link (I'd be trying out an outlet site): http://us.karenmillen.com/Kare.....g_shopping).

The gray/black tweed is around $130 after a 25% off promo, 58% wool, 18% polyamide, 12% wool mohair, 12% alpaca.

The "stone" colored one is about the same. It also comes in black. 75% wool, 25% polyamide. About the same price; a tiny bit less.

I don't know anything about wool coats - would these blends be too warm for CA? I like to be cozy, but not sweaty. Also, are either of these good for the office? Too flashy? I need conservative, but I'm done with spending on boring.

ETA another black option, since Mo made a good point about bells & whistles. $140 ish, 23% Polyester,77% Wool with differently textured panels.
