I learned something new about Nordstrom / Rack return policy!

I work in the Customer Service department now (I transferred from sales) and one of the first things I learned is that Nordstrom will take back Rack merchandise! We follow the Rack's return policy (30 days w/ receipt) but we can take back the items! Who knew...

I have no idea how I never knew this! Is this news to anyone else, or have I been living under a rock all these years?

I knew that I could return stuff I bought on-line from the Rack to Nordies, can I also return stuff I bought in the Rack store? I didn't know that... but given that the Rack a block away from me vs Nordie's that is 10 miles, I've never thought to inquire.
Now, if the Rack would only accept returns from Nordies I'd be in heaven.

You can take back items purchased at the Rack store to Nordstrom stores! That's the part I never knew.

I'm 99% sure you can't return Nordies items to the Rack. I'll have to ask though the next time I'm in there just for kicks.

QM, the Rack does accept purchases from regular Nordstrom. I return online purchases at the Rack regularly.

Being a serial returner, I quickly found out that online Rack things can be returned to a regular Nordstrom Customer Service counter

I also found out that the Rack stores seem to jump through more hoops when I return online Rack things there (go figure!)

I did ask about returning Nordies to a Rack (at the MOA they are about 500 feet apart and couldn't there be some sort of arrangement to get things between the two. . . ?), but they said 'no'.

Still, the one-stop returning at Nordies for any online purchases is very handy.

QM, YES! Another reason I love Nordstrom. Be warned though that the Rack will only accept returns up to 30 days for all all merchandise, even Nordstrom purchases. So if you need to use the Nordstrom unlimited timeframe policy, you have to go to a regular Nordstrom.

Just read Marianna's comment and now I'll have to bug my Rack a bit more when I'm too tired to walk the extra 500 feet

My Rack(s) will take items up to 60 days (or more if you get the right person!). They will look up purchases on my credit card too when I've lost the receipt. I think their computer system goes back 90 days or so for receipt lookup.

(I never PLAN to wait so long with Rack things, but sometimes they are stashed away and I've forgotten about them. . .)

Marianna, thanks so much for sharing this - I had no idea. My Nordstrom is much closer than the Rack and this will make returning items so much easier!
