About your wardrobe and personal style

I have a work uniform... it's SO non-YLF!

My new job requires me to wear a uniform every day. I'm okay with it. It makes sense for my job and the activities I will be performing.

What I think is a little bit funny is that it's 100% non-YLF. Polo shirt, khakis, and running shoes. It made me laugh when I learned this. If Angie saw me in this, she might have an apoplexy! However, I am hoping to find reasonably flattering versions of each of the above.

I also do so SOLEMNLY SWEAR that I will NOT wear my work uniform out to dinner after work, to social events, or shopping! I will put on something fab if I am going out after work, I promise. :)

I hope everyone is having a lovely week!

NC: I guess that'll make dressing for non-work activities even more fun! :-)

Your post made me LOL. At least you'll have more of your clothing budget to spend on non-work outfits. Are you allowed to accessorize your work outfit or would your boss frown on a polkadot flower pin worn on your polo?

Oh no! You can't wear your pretty clothes every day. What is it that you do, Steffie?

Angie, I'm a personal trainer. The studio I work at provides polo shirts and I must purchase khakis. Joy, I love your ideas about accessories, but sadly, non-stud earrings or necklaces aren't allowed with all the weights and straps and cables flying everywhere, which I understand. I think the only accessory I could probably get away with is a scrunchy.... and that's not so much going to happen. ;)

Oh Steffi you got the job! Congratulations!! Pity you won't be able to wear all those lovely outfits you've been posting. Do enjoy them in your free time!!

Yay! Congratulations. I hear you. I don't think any accessory other than a hairband would be appropriate in that environment.

What impressed my fitness groups in the past was when I showered and got dressed to go out. They always looked surprised that I actually could dress up like a girl, LOL!

That's ok, we know how fashion fun you are :) and how good you look when you do dress without a uniform.

Y'all are the sweetest. I'm in my uni now and feel a little goofy.... but you're right, I'll enjoy dressing up even more now!

Congrats on getting the job, Steffie! My summer job has a uniform and I always feel awful in it but I enjoy what I wear on my days off and after work so much more because of it.
