How to recreate this look or finding a perfect utility jacket

I found this look on the web yesterday and fell in love. I am pretty much obsessed with the idea of recreating it (minus all the jewelry), especially since I own skinny jeans in that orchid color.

The main element that I am lacking is the jacket. I have been wanting a military/utility cargo jacket for a while, but never invested time in finding one. So, I looked all over the web and found many "almost-s" but nothing quite right ( I have included photos of two such examples from Gap). I am looking for something lightweight, and a bit more refined. Ideally the sleeves could be zipped out. Most of the ones I am finding are darker, more traditional military green, but that would still work ( or not?) Would the color of jacket in #2 be too much of a soul-sucking-beige for a pale blonde like me? All the ideas and thoughts are more than welcome.

No idea how these are on, but there are a couple of options at Eddie Bauer that might work well and come in several colors.

The textured herringbone jacket and the Stine four pocket field jacket are the two I was thinking but there are some others too.

I am searching for the perfect utility jacket, so I feel your pain! I think the fit is so key. Not sure about the lighter, beige color for you--you'd probably have to try them on to really tell.

I love this look, too, Tanya, and I think you'd look amazing in it.

Rae has several utility jackets, and Nancylee has one, too, I think. I hope they chime in.

I suspect that beige example might not be the best colour for you, but hey...you can't say for sure until you try it! The green could work, I think.

I tried on that Gap jacket the other day. The fit was off on me and the quality wasn't brilliant, but truthfully, if it had fit better I would probably have bought it. I have developed a yen for this type of jacket, too, in the last few days.

Abie, those look grea, but usually Eddie Bauer fits too big for me, But it's worth a try.

Jonesy, I know, my logical area of the brain tells me to stay away from beige, but the emotional one likes to fight it occasionally

Suz, which one did you try, #2 or #3 (both are Gap)? We can look for these jackets together. I do not want to settle for something less than perfect. I am curious to see what Rae and Nancy lee will say.

I actually have a similar jacket, though not as structured. it's a long time since I used it, and as I remember it runs a bit large at the shoulders, but again it is a piece from my mon, so I'll live with that. I'll wear it some day soon (without the jewellery, too) I love how the feminine colour on the trousers + pumps are paired with the rougher utility jacket. The jacket actually enhances the feminine vibe (IMO)

Nice look and I think you should stick with the olive or a darker khaki color unless you'll be wearing color close to your face to counterbalance it. I think I might actually own most of the pieces, but my jacket is olive - would that still work with the pink pants and denim shirt? Hmmm.
