How to jazz up this sweater

Okay, I admit, I've been sucked into fall clothes shopping already (it's my favorite season!). I bought this cute short-sleeve wrap sweater from F21 and it finally arrived in the mail today. It's adorable and flattering (or will be with a bit of sleeve alteration), but I see myself easily falling into the jeans-and-cute-shoes rut. That's certainly not a bad combination, but I think this has way more possibilities behind it. Help! What kind of outfits can I base around this sweater that will be more exciting/interesting than with plain old pants? Could I layer it over a dress, a la Kasmira of What I Wore Today?

I think it would work over a sleek pencil skirt too. It's a really cute top!

You could wear it over a sleeveless sheath dress. Anything under it probably needs to be very simple and fitted. Is it long enough on you to wear over leggings? Definitely try a black, white, grey, or a microcheck skinny pant.

I would love to see this with a floral knee length skirt in tonal colours and jazz flat shoes. I think it will be a very versatile piece and I'm a little green with envy.
