How many waistcoats?

I was curious, how many vests/waistcoats do you own? I have 2, one houndstooth limited to fall/winter, the other one navy pinstripe all-season. I really like the way they function in an outfit, as was recently illustrated in the sleeveless thread. So I am considering getting another one (or maybe 2, one of which would probably be black), and I just wanted a reality check to make sure I am not going overboard.
Thanks!

I have two: black with a white back that has a subtle pinstripe; and a micro-houndstooth one that is more suitable for fall. I would love to add a white cotton one for summer, but I haven't had any luck with that. For fall, I might add one more, if I see something different. Maybe a gray...

I saw this one today and I'm intrigued:

VERY 80s!!! Very Michael Jackson (prediction: military jackets and details will be big soon... because of MJ).

I currently just have one, but I'd like more!

I just have one, but I want more eventually. I would also like a white lightweight one for summer, and maybe one with a pattern of some kind. I'm okay with cheap ones though, so that makes a big difference. I don't think 3 is unreasonable though.

Hey, if it's a look that works for you, why not duplicate??? I actually just recently bought one though I claimed that I would not since I wore them so much in the 90's. I am warming up to the look...

I have 4 - a black one, white with black pinstripes for the summer, brown one and now a grey one. I like having the different colors for different options. The brown one is a slightly different shape (from h&m) that I just really liked. If you like them, then get another! :-)

Shiny, I just bought the ATL vest you posted. Have not worn it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Has a great vibe. Fun, yet still classic. Should be quite versatile.

I'm going to say be cautious, Marianne. It will be time for a pukka jacket before you know it in our neck of the woods even though it broke 100 degrees on the Eastside today. (Glad we live by the water where it only got to 93). Unless you intend to wear waistcoats under jackets and coats, I’d add one more and consider a moto or millitary style :0)

Angie, I actually did wear them under coats a lot last winter. Would you advise against it? Or will they be "out" too soon? (I can't wait for this heat wave to end. My limit is around 75 - very low. Beyond that I get really crabby)

I would probably go cheap on them. My houndstooth was sort of a splurge so I don't want to put more $$ in that area.

Kyle, I could really see you in that ATL style!

ummm... I have 6 waistcoats (ok one doesn't currently fit) and 2 vests. I wear the vests year round - in the summer with sleeveless tops. In the winter under jackets or by themselves over woven tops depending on the occasion and temperatures.

If you can layer, then you don't have a limit. Marianne! Go for it. I don’t see the androgynous look dying any time soon.

Thanks! It's also good to know that everyone else is planning on expanding their collection. I'll keep an eye out for pictures:)

Sihaya, I thought waistcoats and vests are the same, how do you categorize them?
