A whole bunch (like 42.) BUT - (and I realize that I'm sounding defensive here) I wear them almost everyday year round. I live a super casual lifestyle - working at home, I live in a very casual town/area and so "dressing-up" usually means putting heels and jackets with your jeans and calling it good, and I live in a very mild climate and so I can wear them everyday all year round if I want.

I have an approximately equal number of slouchy skinnies and boyfriends, with a sprinkling of flares, boot-cuts, and true skinnies - all different washes and varying forms of distressing.

I love jeans. They are my very favorite wardrobe item. (Thank goodness! That kind of - sort of - justifies the number, doesn't it?

I have 7 pairs I think They are very much casual wear for me and I don't wear them to work so I don't really need many

Very low end of the spectrum with 3 here -- medium-wash skinnies, dark-wash skinnies (which I really haven't worn in a while), and dark-wash straights. Plus a few other old stretched-out or non-fitting pairs that I should probably just get rid of.

For me, they're convenient to have, but are a pain to fit and never my favorite thing to wear.

2. But if you flipped the question to skirts....

I have 7 jeans:
2 mid rise, straight-flare (not so tight on thighs, flare below knees), with a clean finish, dark grey and dark blue
1 mid-rise, skinny-flare, clean finish (skinny on thighs/flare below knees),

dark blue
1 mid rise, straight jeans, clean finish, in thicker fabrics,

grayish-blue

1 mid rise, skinny flare, a little more 70's, in thinner fabrics, washed out medium blue
1 low rise, straight-flare, more casual but more beautiful, washed out dark blue
1 low rise, straight flare, very casual and very old

Note 1: I usually use jeans+shirt+cardigan/blazer/coat for work, with a few exceptions once in a while. Where I say "clean finish" that's "less casual jeans I can use at work" - no rips, details, embelishments or different washes allowed
Note 2: no skinny jeans fits me, so I have a skinny in a thicker/more resistant cotton fabric that has a "jeans style" finish

Okay, seriously??? I'm the only one with no jeans?

I'm a freak!!

I thought I don't have many...until I started to count
4 dark wash (bootcuts, flares, BF, skinnies)
3 white ( optic white skinnies and BF, cream straight legs)
1 plaid skinnies
1 light grey skinnies
1 faded wash straight legs
10 altogether! Maybe I do not need KUT white flares and Gap light blue skimmers Angie tempted me with after all...:-)

I do wear them for work and out of work though...

My collection is on the small side, though I wear the black jeans all the time.

1 pr black skinnies
1 pr boyfriend jeans (dark blue)
1 pair grey-blue straights
1 pair super washed out skinnies

34 pairs for work and play dressy and casual. Wide leg and high waist is what I live in and love.

16 pair. I just counted. I'm not sure that they all fit right now though. I wear jeans every day.

I'm going to say 20 including denim substitutes like the sweatpant jeans. But I'll count when I get home...

4! 2 BF's, dark wash skinnies, 1 pair of bootcut.
Now, I count my white jeans as trousers, but I do have 2 pairs of white jeans, too!

Right now I have five pairs, but if you pare it down to the ones that truly fit and aren't worn out I have zero. I still have to decide whether that bothers me or not...
