Hi or Lo Top Converse?

My family's asking for Christmas ideas and I'd like to put a pair (or two) of Converse on the list. I'm not sure whether to go for hi or lo tops. Any thoughts on the pros, cons, and versatility of each? The colours I'm considering are red, grey, and charcoal.

Depends on your personal style--the high ones I've always thought of as more rocknrollish, and more old school. The high ones look more distinctive (lo tops don't even have the trademark star), as well. I feel like if you go with the hi tops, red might be a bit overboard.

The lo tops tend to slip off your feet, too, but are more versatile.

I personally prefer low top ones, but can't really give a good reason for that.

I love my low-tops, to me they feel a little more classic and less teenage rock-n-roll. But that is a personal thing... I think you can do what you like here.
