Is this dress cute or tacky?

I can't tell!! Please help! I would wear it for Saturday night Russian restaurant parties. I'd have to bling it up. Obv I would have to add rhinestones galore. Or red patent heels.

I voted Nay, although I don't think it's exactly tacky. It just looks a bit juvenile to me. I feel like for the Russian parties, you need to go full-out SEXY, and this is not quite glam enough to me. It's just a bit too girlish, I think.

I think that if anyone would look great in this dress, it would be you. The practical side of my brain wonders if you needed a jacket or cardi for warmth, would those side sections that stick out interfere and be a pain for styling.

I think it's a bit tacky, although I can see it looking very cute on you. Which doesn't mean I think you're tacky. It's just that you could elevate it. I am thinking of your polka dot dress (the bare shouldered one) to which this one is a little bit similar.

It would be a lot nicer and more ladylike (while still being sexy) on you than it is shown...but I still think it is on the young side. So I voted nay.

I don't know if the opposite of cute is tacky. Sometimes tacky IS cute. I think it's a little odd, though. Will have to ponder why, or see it on a mortal body.

I saw Shannon's thread and hopped over here to see your dress. I don't understand the Russian restaurant parties, so I'm probably of no help here. Do you own or run a Russian restaurant or go for social affairs?

There is a lot going on with the dress in its print and peplum. I rather like the three links Anna shared and could see you in any of these.

Missvee, I can see that it would accentuate my rear view - that is a positive for me

Vicki, we go to lots of family russian restaurant parties. they are bling-er-iffic affairs. more skin and sparkle the better. as others have noted, this dress is pretty tame, I would have to sparkle it up with accessories.

Anyway you've all confirmed the feeling I was getting from this dress... it is cute but young and possibly borderline tacky.

I actually love this for you! Black and white...houndstooth...peplum...I love it! You would so rock this dress especially blinged out like the second pic you linked to. I personally wouldn't pick this dress as I don't like wearing strapless, but I could totally see you wearing it and you'd look great in it with red pumps, clutch and lipstick.

Rita, I like this for you. I don't think it's tacky but I do think the way the model is wearing it looks a bit "so so". With your style and elegance I think you would really work this dress. Given you are petite, I imagine the dress might be knee length on you? This alone makes the dress look "classier" than on the model.

Well my YLF darlings, TACKY style wins out! The ASOS one sold out. My coworker liked the sweetheart neckline better but I wasn't too sure about it from the start. The BEBE one is on it's way to me now
