EDIT: Deleted original thread.

Was truly too confusing and too much of a frustrated rant.

Will just go make the best decision I can instead of wasting time with venting and second-guessing self, using YLF for a crutch! Wish me luck, fit and comfort, ladies!

ETA 2: So here's the short version, since I'm still puzzling people!

I moved to 'work HQ' (my second home, different city) and am moving house. Crazy week at work and home, of the order only a country like India and a city like its capital can provide! At the same time, my shoes start to fall apart, precipitating shoe hunt emergency.

Arrived in Converses on Saturday; chafed at the big joint below the big toe after a 2-hour flight and hardly any walking.

While moving (ongoing) found 3 pairs of shoes I'd been banking on had shrunk and fossilized!

On Sunday, a working day as well as start of shoe hunt, wore the animal-print ballet flats I had packed from home. --- had to do quite a bit of walking and they, er... broke in two the mall. Not far from Clarks. Which turned out to be a winner even if they didn't have the black ballet pumps I was supposed to look for.

Now desperate, switched to shrunken leather-lined canvas shoes for the evening. Ended up with blisters on little toes and red raw patches on the joint of big toes. For Monday, chose another shrunken pair of sandals to avoid pressure on abraded patches --- but their choke hold on my instep resulted in blue bruises that turned into potato-shaped lumps by midday. Also, punch-patterned footbed that was cushy when soft had turned into cheese grater on hardening! OUCH!

Today's tale: Turned to last shrunken pair, old green and tan loafers I was delighted to rediscover. Now have scraped back of heel/ankle, which was already rather messed up by the now-broken ballet flats!

Left with: Converses, red fraying crochet ballet flats (will fall apart soon too, doubtless) and new bronze slippers that are versatile but not comfy for walking long hours, plus can't currently be pushed on to blue blistered potato feet.

Other shoe shopping adventures included finding perfect zippered yellow gladiators, super comfy, in my size --- except none of the three pairs in shop would fit my right foot (fine on left): either too small to zip up or loose enough to shift around and off foot! In the same size! SA flummoxed, more flustered than I for a change!

After much tooth-gnashing, will NOT buy original wishlisted Clarks wedge sandal-shoe here: http://www.jabong.com/Clarks-S.....47919.html Breaks the budget for the next two months, and regretfully, not the best time to indulge when need footwear in multiples. Maybe if I can locate it's nude version in autumn or so?

Instead, will order these tomorrow, having tried in store but getting small discount on site: http://www.jabong.com/Clarks-S.....47925.html Weird plain jane cousins of above, cross-bred with slingbacks. But hoping works with jeans as well as formal skirts and cocktail dresses --- do you think it will? Any warnings or arguments against? Any bad experiences with these or similar? Would be most grateful.

Also, with saved difference, might get these: http://www.jabong.com/Clarks-S.....-8747.html

Have also turned up these at a local store, at 30% off in my size! http://www.naturalizer.com/en-.....lette.aspx (waving to Meredith, who recommended them in black and white, which I wasn't as keen on, saying I preferred last season's metallics!) If they're still around at the end of the month, might load up the old credit card.

Feel free, please, to warn me off any if you notice potential fit issues or styling challenges (I need versatility and comfort on bad roads and fussy feet). And I'd be delighted if you would weigh in, if you have experienced any of these styles!
