Have you ever screwed up like this?

I decided the EF skirt wasn't exactly right and thought, a denim skirt is what I'd like. I started looking online and found one at Nordstrom and two at Macy's that I liked. Because I've lost a little weight, I'm not exactly sure what size I am anymore. So I ordered the skirts in two sizes where I could. Nordstrom was out of one of the sizes, so I only ordered one. But at Macy's, I ordered the two skirts in two sizes. After I placed the order, I realized I had accidentally used the shipping address, my husband's office, for the billing address. I called Macy's to correct the mistake, and they wouldn't fix it. I figured the order would be cancelled, so I placed the order again, being sure to use the right billing address this time. This morning I got emails saying both orders had shipped! So I've ordered nine denim skirts!!

BTW, here are the skirts. I hope one of them works.

Laughing in recognition! I have double-ordered before, though never in quite this quantity.
Can't wait to see the responses - wonder if there is someone out there who has order more than nine of something - whether intentionally or not!

Actually, my daughter used her boss's credit card to order something for him a couple weeks ago and mistakenly had it sent to our house. My husband didn't recognize the name on the order and rejected it... hijinks ensued, but it was all resolved pretty quickly.
I like #3. I wore #1 a lot in a previous life as a homeschooler, so I've got baggage with it.

Oh yes! Or, I put the order in and meet the free shipping criteria (in Canada), and then realize ... wait...I need more and end up paying shipping because the second order doesn't meet the criteria.
You'll have a few returns to make but hopefully will love one of the skirts!

Lol! I've never done this exact thing before but I have twice ordered something and had it shipped to my previous address. Both times I did not realize until it was too late to change/cancel. Luckily it is in the same town... the first time I still had a friend who lived in the building so I had her pick it up for me. The second time... well, I waited until tracking info said it was delivered, then I creepily followed someone into the building to retrieve the box (the packages are left inside a locked lobby, but no doorman).

ETA: also, credit cards seem to accept anything in terms of adddress and even name info. Before it went all electronic I once accidentally sent my rent check instead of my credit card bill and the card company cashed it! (They did credit the overage to my account but still...)

Once I had a bunch of stuff in my shopping cart.....many were just wish list things. I popped in a promo code just to check what the prices were going to be. Then, I accidentally clicked "place order" instead of "apply promo". I felt so stupid when I called CS to cancel the order.

Those skirts are nice, I hope they work out for you.
Don't worry too much about the duplicates, just return right away so that they don't go into your bill.
The double order was not your fault, you thought the first order was invalid. It seems these days vendors will accept almost anything in order to sell.

That made me laugh. Maybe not nine, but definitely similar. I've more than once ordered the wrong size too. Looking forward to the show and tell with the skirts.

I like your picks though. I want one with the metal buttons down the front too. I think I might have been on record last year as saying I didn't care for these buttons but I changed my mind about them.

LOL, that is too funny! I haven't ordered nine skirts, but I definitely ordered two pair of the same shoes. I was building a big ASOS order over time and didn't see the quantity of 2 next to one of the items. I was already ordering multiple sizes.

Yikes! It's easy to mess up an online order, especially if you are doing other things at the same time. I once ordered a jacket by mistake because I didn't realize it was still in my online shopping basket from when I'd looked at it months before. It was on final sale by then, so I had to sell it on e-Bay for a loss.

Ha! Maybe it is possible to have too many denim skirts.
A couple of years ago, while determined to find riding boots to fit my narrow calves, there were boxes and boxes and boxes of them in multiple sizes arriving. I never did find any that way but got some at NAS the following year. DH got rather concerned. He had a good (older) friend whose wife had an on-line shopping problem and he finally had her put in a home as he was convinced that her mind had failed. Be careful what DH sees

I haven't done exactly this, but I did order a record number of boots from Nordstrom once. You should have seen the faces of the SAs when Sveta and I went to try them on. She had done the same thing and we had a veritable tower of boots!

That's hilarious! I can relate -- more than once I've accidentally had Nordstrom orders shipped to my old house, and the tenant has to leave them on the porch for me!

sent to an old address in another town. I realised as soon as I did it, and wrote to them and told them the change of address but I never saw it the voucher. I kind of hope someone used it and didn't just toss the envelope.

I totally relate. When I am in the States I am often scheming to order things in time to receive and possibly return them before I leave. I am juggling lots of addresses and once accidentally ordered a large order to my MIL (billing address) instead of sister (shipping address). Let's just say many complications ensued.

I probably have done worse, bought something, only to find about 2 duplicates of the same item (and did not intend to buy another one)....I like the idea of a denim skirt too, the fit can be tricky, so with your 9 skirts, hopefully the perfect one is in there. This was a fun post, because we all make mistakes and have to laugh them off.
