'Happy Moments' Oct 31st - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all, I thought I'd finally get around to kicking off another HM thread. It's been the kids school break this week, so busy, busy, busy.

You know the idea by now... we share happy times, blessings, gratitudes and things we're looking forward to so that we stay positive in our outlook.

Ok, well, to start things off, I've just had quite a happy moment when I opened the door to 5 children in fabulous Halloween fancy dress and it was great hearing their whoops of delight when I handed them all mini chocolate bars

On Wednesday, me DS and DH went to London for the day to visit, first Hamleys and then the London Dungeon http://www.thedungeons.com/london/en/ The Dungeon was fab! Lots of shocks frights and gory details. Brilliant actors and actresses led us through the Great Plague, Jack the Ripper, Sweeney Todd, Guy Fawkes, Beheading, Hanging etc. Great fun! BTW I totally whimped out of the Death Drop ride though!

Other happy moments... New skirt fabric to sew for myself, a whole load of housework accomplished yesterday, plenty of work on the horizon for me (non stressfull too) and finally, a delicious steak and pepper sauce meal (cooked by me) just eaten by myself and my guys

I love London, sounds like you had a brilliant day.
I just got back from spending a few days in Leeds with my cousin and her kids which always makes me happy happy happy. Also this weekend is the breakup anniversary so I'm pleased to have made it through the last 12 months relatively unscathed and can honestly say I'm much happier than I was this time last year x

Thanks Louise! Except It did rain a fair bit in London! Yay! You made it to 12 months, glad you're feeling happier.

btw I just realised I wrote fights instead of frights in my post.. corrected now.

I must have taken the dry weather up to Leeds with me! I never noticed your spelling mistake! Oops x

This has been a tough week for us, lots of illness and unfortunate news, with bad things happening to good people we know. Luckily, we have our little ray of sunshine to help remind us to appreciate the little things, even if it's just making the best of a rainy day

I'm grateful to be healthy. Lots of people around me are sick, and I feel strong, cheeky and energetic.

My baby girl is coming home from uni today, just overnight with a buddy. I will be doing their laundry, stocking a goodie bag, cooking 'real' meals but glad to see them.

DS is starting to really fit into his new school, which is a relief,

Hubs is going to see his parents today, thankful he is making the effort, they don't connect very often.

Everyone is healthy (although I'm dragging them out for flu shots this weekend) and we are just back from a very long walk with my dog, which makes me happy how my body can move.

And my big news, which I can't share in my real life as it is part of my company reorganization, is that I received a large promotion at work. I have waited several years for it, even looked elsewhere once but it all worked out for the best.

Oh, many congrats A! I'm so pleased about the promotion and you have you DD at home too! Plus lots of other good family news. And definitely get those flu shots. I'm already sorted on that front.

Had the week off and accomplished lots, however the best thing happened today.

I was at the grocery store doing the weekly provisioning. At the cash registers there was a bit of a line up, but the sun was streaming in the big front windows and across the road was a farmers field flanked by fiery autumnal trees. Two kids, in completely different lines with their parents were singing spontaneous little ditties in high sweet little-kid voices. Folks looked up and around at each other, and grinned in common appreciation of the happiness of the moment.

I had a very happy moment this morning when my son helped me sort through the boxes on the garage and I found my sweaters!! Hooray!! Of course, the weather forecast says it will be back to 90F later in the week, but I'm thrilled nonetheless!

Ohhh, how lovely Carla! I love little spontaneous nuggets of happiness like that!

Yay! You got your sweaters Mary. So pleased... though not about the high temps though... 90 yikes!

Diane - when I first read through your post I could have sworn you said you ate dungeness crab! I must be craving! But your steak and pepper sauce sound almost as good!

A - congrats on the promotion and I'm dragging myself kicking and screaming to get the flu shot this week.
Runcarla - kids singing is the sweetest! and yay for a week off!!!

We saw DD2 in an ultrasound today and everything looks perfect! I'm so grateful that all I have to deal with is annoying pregnancy symptoms and nothing major or scary. 6-ish weeks to go!!

Lol AM! crab hehe! Sooo glad all is well with the baby. Getting close now eh?
