Agree Angie, the corgis are so wonderful, and she is usually surrounded by 3 or 4 of them in pics. Thanks Diana for posting that!

I totally enjoyed clicking through these pictures - thanks for the link. I saw her and the entire royal family 3 years ago during a parade in London where I and a group of my students happened to be visiting. Fun!

I thoroughly enjoyed these photos. I was tickled to see, in one family portrait, that Edward's and Andrew's trousers had been hemmed and let down again.....just like every other kid's pants.

I loved these photos also because in addition to being a fantastic retrospective of the Queen's life, they are also a great look at style over the last 9 decades!

Chouette, I saw Her Majesty in full regalia from across Westminster Abbey when I was there for the Order of the Garter ceremony in 2013. She is teeny tiny, and I'm not sure how she managed to walk with all that heavy regalia on! Just the crown must weigh a ton. We were also about 10 feet away from Prince Charles as he was leaving the ceremony.

I saw Queen Elizabeth riding (very rapidly) in an open carriage with Emperor Hirohito of Japan. His visit was very controversial. It wasn't just that Japan had been at war with Great Britain (and the US of course), and that Japan had committed horrible atrocities, but that he himself had been Emperor during WWll. It would be like having Stalin visit, I think. Anyway, it was fascinating seeing the tv coverage. At that time, 1971, quite a few WWll veterans were alive, including my father, and many of the British vets who had served in the Pacific protested the Emperor's visit.

I know there are many different opinions on the monarchy, but I think she is an amazing woman. She has always put duty first. There will probably never be another like her.

What a lovely retrospective, Diana. I saw her wave from a limo when she visited Stanford University in the late 70s, and though I'd always been a fan, I was shocked at the thrill I felt when I saw her wave.
