I'm going for my regular trim June 12th but am thinking of going super short for the summer instead. Here's a couple of examples of the type of style I'm thinking of. Would love your thoughts.

Love both but I could be blinded by the fact I just got my hair cut into a short style from a chin-length bob last week and am so loving it. I left the bangs a little long, but otherwise, it's razored into that short precision over-the-ears look in both of these images.

I am in favour also of keeping some length in your bangs now. I totally get the appeal of this, though. I always think about going super short in summer and often do go shorter than in winter, even with this modified pixie.

Thanks for your thoughtful replies all. I've added a few other options below that would have more length on top and in the bangs as per Angie's suggestion. Is this more along the line? Any of these stand out as a good contender?

(there's one in this batch that I'm totally smitten with - curious to see if anyone picks it...)

Out of them all, my strong favorite is #4 from the 2nd batch! It kind of has that long-hair look, while still being short.

2 (second batch) is similar to what you have, no? Just maybe a bit shorter/ less angled? Hard for me to say.

#5 is quite similar, too, although maybe not as long a bang (hard to say how it angles on the end.)

#3 and #4 look quite similar to one another. Version 4 might be a pain to style. For me, anyway. Mine has been a bit like #3 at times. It depends what the stylist does; she seems to do it a bit differently every cut. Sometimes I have less on the sides/ back and more on the front, sometimes it is more even all round with a slight angles bang -- more like 2 or 5. I don't really ask for any of this. She just goes with her whim and usually it works out okay for me.

#1 would personally bug me because it looks choppy in a weird way with those two longer chunks. Kind of like when I cut my daughter's bangs, LOL.

All the cuts (1st and 2nd batch) are quite a lot like what I have already. When you have short hair there's not a huge amount you can do with it to make a drastic change. It's just varying degrees of short, etc.

My personal fave is actually #1 in the second batch (yes Suz...the choppy one!). But not exactly as shown. Picture the long bang in the front but with the longer piece now the same length as the rest of the bang - not so "oh yikes...my stylist forgot this chunk".

More thinking to do...

Long in front, short on sides would look freaking awesome, with your great bone structure! 2,3, 4 are my favs! Looking forward to pics

I used a picture of Jennifer Lawrence, from I think the Academy Awards (white sparkly dress) as my inspiration. Her hair is longer and piecier in the bangs but short in the back. FWiW I love 4 in the second set.

Oh, sure -- if the bangs were not chopped so randomly...but it's really a lot like what you have, isn't it? I am not sure I get what the change is going to be. But maybe what you have now is longer on the sides and back? I totally hear you on wanting that shorter for summer! It grows so darned fast anyway!
