Greetings from Greece. Not such a happy couple of days :(

Hi all, our hol in Greece started well but it all went down hill (literally) on wed morning when I had a bad fall down the stairs at our villa. I spent a day and a half in hospital. I had a bang on my head and very bad bruising on my back. After a scan and several x-rays I was found to have no fractures. Thank God. I am now recovering back at the villa and hope to start to enjoy the rest of my holiday soon. Not really what I wnated to happen but at least I am ok.

If you must be off your feet, I hope you can (soon) be off your feet in a park or on a beach...Being injured or ill when you are away from home is disconcerting, so best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Oh no-((( Not the holiday you had imagined, but I'm relieved to hear no major damage was done, Diane. Do take it very easy, and rest up as much as possible. Hopefully the Greek weather is cooperating so that you can put your feet up and enjoy the sunshine!

Hi all again, I'm able to use a computer in a local poolbar and wanted to drop in to say thanks for all the good wishes. I am still sleeping sitting up and on pain killers but I managed to get down on to a sun bed by the pool today. My lower back has dreadful bruising and is swollen and the swelling on my head has finally gone down to nearly normal, but I thank god because it could have been so much worse. I hope I heal well enough to have a bathe in the sea before my holiday ends in a week. Thanks again everyone. xoxo

Oh no! I am so glad you are ok. I hope you get your swim in! I love Greece, but I think it is cursed for me a little -- my first field season, on the first day, I got hit in the head with a goat bone (a VERY long story) and had a mild concussion and stitches. Every year going back I had some flukey injury

So glad there are no fractures - a friend of mine recently wasn't so lucky when she fell down some stairs. Try to make lemonade from this lemon (see kellygirl for inspiration ).

Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and am so sorry that this mishap happened to you (vacation or no). Aggghhh....

Sending along my best wishes that things heal up dramatically so that you can enjoy a swim or two ASAP.

In the meantime, here's hoping that 'they' (hotel, resort, family, friends, etc.) are taking extra good care of you and spoiling you as much as possible.
